I have a core duo :p

Don't feel bad. I still have my Core 2 MBP (2.33). I alternate usage based on which one is charging. On every day tasks, I feel no difference. It's not until I start firing up 50 million apps and playing in GarageBand where I feel the difference (and that's probably more to do with RAM).

No way you would hear difference between 5400 - 7200, and correct me if im wrong, but i believe the MBP already had 7200.
They should most def. be able to match the MBA screenresolution on the 13" MBP

Here's hoping for good graphics option on the high-end 15". What's listed is pretty terrible, may as well still be the 330m. The 17" specs are nice, though.

what ****ed up person would build a 5200 rpm disk in such a piece of hardware... oh yes apple that is :apple:

i would never build a fast disk, becouse of the noise. and if you want it, you can upgrade. so there is no problem.

I don't feel bad, it still works fine for me ... and has for a long time. WHo knows, in a few years, somebody might want an original core duo 13 inch macbook. I have a 2 year old mini to do the viseo conversions now even though I run audiobook builder on this one. Might look to an ipad when I go to replace it if vnc works well or if apple does a 'back to my mac' app for the ipad.

Agreed. The 17" looks to be the only decent upgrade but thaat's way too much of a machine for me.

I really miss having a Macbook but looks like I'm back to the land of the PCs for my next laptop. Boo.
