Hey. My new iPP 9.7" is most definitely a worthwhile upgrade to my gen 1 Air, however I'm not a fan of the Apple Smart Cover that I purchased with it. It's slightly wider than the iPad itself, so it has a kind of 'lip'. It's also more loose / has more play than the iPad Air cover. These things together make it more uncomfortable in hand than the cover for the original air. I also don't think it will last as long as I remove the cover often and there seems to be quite a bit of strain on the top part of the 'hinge flap' when I do.

Its super expensive as well. Will there be third party magnetic smart covers at some point that are not connected to a case? Cover only. Everything I can find seems to be a cover connected to a case as one piece, which I don't want. Something identical in function to the apple Smart Cover but with better performance and a cheaper price would be ideal.
