It really overlap and make the volume buttons not easy to click.
Also it is heavy, seems it only match if you are using it with the back case... Sad

That kinda make me want to go back to air2 lol

I kind f like it. The flap makes it easy to get open unlike the iPad Pro 12 which is flush and I'm always struggling to get it open.

I'm confused, so it overlaps while closed?

I have to agree, I'm very disappointed with the fit of the cover as well, not enough to go back to the air lol but probably enough to take it back and look for other options.

Yes, when closed and when folded behind the iPad as well, I'd say about 1/8 of an inch overhang.

I guess this is the design since mini 4. A few reviews mentioned this and it's supposed to work better with the case.

You're right, I just noticed it on my mini 4. To be honest never noticed it before and it doesn't effect pressing the volume buttons at all in my opinion, and I use it with now case, so seems not to be a big issue to me. But it does seem they designed it to work with the silicon back they sell as well.

I agree it doesnt look as good but it's easier to open with it being overlap

The problems mainly occur when you fold it back, the edge gap is much thicker. That make me feel awkward to hold and heavier. Also it does cover the volume buttons.

That looks like garbage. Was going to get one today, now not so sure. Don't really want the added bulk of the rear case.

Not when ipad closed. It hide the button when you fold the cover to it back.

Wow, I completely see what you are saying. And on my own just changing volume by memory with the Mini 4 and I folded the cover back. I really thought you were bs before, but its an issue with the iPad open and being used and the cover on the back, since the volume buttons are on the lower side of the side.

That being said, I don't think its an issue, just a preference. But annoying now that I know about it.

I can't stand this cover and it's going back. I get that it's designed to use with a case, but I have no desire to use a case and further increase the weigh. Compared to the cover on the Air 2, this is a huge step backwards.

Not only is there an overhang, but the hinge side doesn't lay flat against the iPad without a case.

I kept my air cover. I read that it will not wake the iPad when opened, which is a minor flaw, given that I will use the Touch ID to authenticate, but the question is if you can attach it at all to the new pro?
