Even the Rose Golds are slipping out of stock.

This can be depressing, but I think checking these inventory tracking sites is the best bet for trying to get a phone earlier than you could by ordering online for delivery. Even if ship dates continue to get pushed back for online orders, Apple will continue to supply at least some devices to their stores to sell in person.

Hey, I'm sure this has already been asked and answered in the thread, so apologies for re-posting.

I'm trying to help a family friend track down a 7 Plus at our local Apple Store. She's not on IUP and wants to buy it outright.

I noticed that iStockNow occasionally has her desired color/capacity/carrier marked as available, but it only appears to be available through the IUP link.

1. Can she use that link to reserve the iPhone without joining IUP?
2. If not, if she showed up at the Apple Store, could they sell it to her or would they tell her that it's being held back for IUP participants?

Did you go through the reservation system or did you just choose pickup during normal checkout process?

I went through the reservation page. It gave me the option of paying IUP or paying in full. Gave me a choice of time to pick it up today. But I do not have the email or text confirmation yet they said I needed and my time is 30 min away.
The phone is the same number that I have a pre-order from ATT (in a month) - is that holding it up?

There's so many Rose Golds 7 Plus across the US.. its crazy. Anyone actually picked one up? I want the Matte Black, but not sure when that will be available

Apparently Rose is the shyte color this year. No one wants it and Apple failed to figure that out. Should be keeping most of those in Asia and sending more blacks here.

1. She certainly can try and doesn't hurt and if she gets turned down, it's not the end of the world. I think on different thread, someone reported that part on the bottom of the FAQ have changed to like

Can I change from the iPhone Upgrade Program to a different form of payment?
Yes. You must be currently enrolled in the iPhone Upgrade Program, so that you can upgrade your iPhone to carrier financing, or purchase at full price. Ask a Specialist for more information.

2. She might be told about it but they might make an exception. YMMV

I did this last Sunday and it went off without a hitch! I used the IUP reservation link to reserve my 7 at my local Apple Store. I was not a member of the IUP at the time and had no plan to join it. I showed up at the store, they had my phone and I just told them I wanted to purchase at full price. Not a problem!

Via Reddit post.

I was just denied a reservation at my local store for not being a part of the Apple Upgrade Program. The manager pointed out that the reservation email has changed since today.

Original email text:

Can I change to a different form of payment for the iPhone Upgrade Program? Yes. You can also upgrade your iPhone to carrier financing or purchase it at full price. Ask a Specialist for more information.

Email text as of 9/23/16:

Make sure you call your store manager before driving to the store for your reservation as Apple officially stated that reservations are for Apple Upgrade Program customers only.

Okay update for Houston folk -

Sugar Land and Memorial City mall Apple Stores won't let you purchase outright via the AIUP anymore. Proceed with caution.

How does the IUP work when you buy the phone at full price? Who's going to trade in a phone in 12 months that they already paid for?

I think this was discussed earlier in the thread but I can't find it.

If my employer pays my service (is the account holder) but I'm responsible for my own device, can I join the IUP?

How will the specialist be able to verify my account if it's not under my name?

Not sure exactly what your're asking, but: When you buy a phone at full price, you're not signing up for the Apple upgrade program...you're buying it full price. If I opted to by a phone at full price this year but chose to purchase a phone next year (i.e. Oct 2017) under the IUP...I'd just buy it under the IUP next year, but I'd be responsible for selling my current phone then (or doing some kind of trade in).

Looking for that elusive JB and trying to figure out if this is worth my time any more.

Anyone have any experience with the new changes for the DMV area? Specifically the Columbia store as that's the closest.
