Apple Support clueless

+1 same issues here for the last few hours after initially working.

As the apple support website though said it was fixed I thought I'd try their "Express Lane Telephone Support" to see if i could get some idea on when it might actually be fixed.

At first I was really impressed, filled in a form about the issue and got an instant call back from Apple support - only he said there's nothing wrong with iCloud and I don't really know much about it anyway as I'm an iPad specialist. He then went on to say that just because a few noisy people complain on forums doesn't make it a big problem - we have millions of customers.

Way to go Apple - worse than not having any feedback

Password rejection - but just started working

Same here. My "mac.com" mail has been dead. Continuously rejecting password my that confirms within the settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > name@mac.com.

But it just started working a couple of minutes ago again on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. So maybe yours will start coming back now as well. Relieved.

I never had any issues upgrading to MobileMe or iCloud. Am I in some weird minority?

No not at all. The ones who post to squawk about issues are actually the minority. People don't usually post to say, "No problems here!"

As a side note, this is why I made it a point to download and install the GM early this week. That way my wife and I could "beat the rush" so to speak.

So, basically: "Moving everything to the cloud, just broke the cloud". :p

Ok, that's not accurate. More like "getting ready to move stuff to the cloud, broke the cloud". As iOS downloads continue and more and more users upload to/download from the cloud, it could get worse.

Android wins this one

Well, I upgraded to iCloud and all seemed well. I even got a welcome email into my MobileMe email account ...

... and then, once my email account in Mail had been converted, my password continues to be rejected. No such problems with my Android phone, though, which is happily signalling each newly received iCloud/MobileMe/.Mac email. How odd! :)

Heere it is that Android system is winning in an area that it did not even enter. Maybe Apple needs to look to see what Android is doing correctly & what Apple is doing wrong. I know that my Android phone does a better job of syncing to my Mac than does all of my iToys.

What? If you read the comments you'll see that the problem has nothing to do with when you migrated to iCloud. I installed iOS5 GM a week ago and moved my MobileMe data a week ago too, but I'm still getting this annoying issue with mail.

Count me among those who had trouble making the move yesterday... everything seems to be fine now tho.

Unfortunately this seems to be affecting everything I have on hardware and MobileMe. Nothing is syncing anymore. I am getting errors. I have tried several times to move to iCloud but get the same message that says to continue using MobileMe.

I do wonder who is getting through/transferred, if anyone. I also wonder if the size of the account matters. Are less used or email only accounts getting transferred before accounts that have GB upon GB of files on MobileMe? It says we'll be able to continue to use the app to access iDisk so I assumed that the files would not be moved over to the iCloud. If it did, some of us would have to buy more space immediately and that was what I was thinking might be holding up some of the larger accounts. I know, it's a stretch—Just thinking of what, why, and when especially if I were to get the iPhone 4S. There would apparently be no way to sync the iPhone with either account (seeing neither works for me right now).

degrade

I love Apple, but Apple has to find a way to deal with such kind of issue...otherwise these kind of issues degrade Apple name in the market.

Takin' my time...

I'm a crazed early adopting apple fanboy, but I can see that I have until June 2012 to find a replacement for Quicken so that I can migrate to Lion. Until then, everything is working ok for me.

Don't believe everything you read...

Ever since upgrading our iPhone 4 to iOS 5, we've had tremendous LAGS and DELAYS when typing text, such as typing the text in this comment field right now. These delays are ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE in Mail, where it sometimes takes 10 SECONDS for Mail to process what we're typing. This is tremendously annoying, and makes our iPhone 4 completely unusable!! Why did you do this to us, Apple?

Rubbish.. My iPhone 4 performs just as quickly under i OS 5 as it did iOS 4...

Mine too. 30 minutes is a far better outage than 3 days.
Apple > RIM

Great! So even if iCloud means for Apple repeating the horrible MobileMe story and making the same mistake again, RIM took days. Everything is fine now…
