Ok, this is another "great" idea in Apple's style - to make socialization even easier and quicker.

Do you remember there were rumors that Apple may integrate NFC chips into one of the next-gen iPhone so that iPhone could locate another iPhone in pretty close proximity and find similar interests of its owners to make it easier for them to get to know each other?

Are we really so lonely in this world that we will make everything it will be offered (sign up in dozens of social networks, tweet our check-ins and now share our location) to socialize as much as possible?

I am not being negative, it's just I feel like "Find My Friends" will be one of the features that most of you will tell your non-iPhone-using friends ("It even can find your friends location!") but won't take advantage of more than once or twice in your life, and that is probably why it is optional.

find my friends doesnt work with non apple friends though
