I don't think is going to be an iPhone 6 at all. Apple has to come out with something better that is going to blow out people's minds. It has to be something that no other cell carriers has. I love apple but all the 4 and 5 look the same.nothing is different besides that the iPhone 5 is taller. This is just my opinion.

So your solution is that they don't make an iPhone 6?

Obviously a sour competitor of apple paid the media to spread this 'rumor' to deter people from buying the iPhone 5 during the holidays.

and we all know who has zero business ethics when it comes to things like this....Samesung.

The alarming thing about this story isn't the time frame, although I have issues with that. The alarming thing is that Apple thinks an iPhone 5S is going to keep its momentum going. Even the iPhone 5 was playing catch-up and didn't quite get there, an iPhone 5S is just going to piss people off.

I agree with the phone has to be different next time.

Apple will hopefully launch the following next year:

1. iPhones in multiple colours and possibile sizes so there are multiple *new* models to select from. iPhone Classic, iPhone Color, iPhone Mini etc.

It hurts Apple that there is really no selection on iPhones and providing these types of options has been a proven success on their iPod line (and now the iPad line too).

2. iPhones with a proportionally bigger screen. Not making the iPhone 5 screen size "proportionally larger" was a mistake that is only now sinking in:

- Even though the iPhone 5 screen size is bigger, almost everything on it appears smaller because the size is not proportionate.
- More work for developers to utilize the extra space efficiently - most don't.
- iPad Mini screen size more proportionate to older size ... again makes it more difficult for app developers to work with the multiple iOS devices and the iPhone 5

- And a proportionally larger screen on the iPhone *would* fit nicely in one hand as the iPad Mini proves that even something quite a bit larger still fits in one hand.

3. Lower cost laptops.

A little of topic but they are pricing themselves out of the laptop market completely with the insanely high prices. The lowest priced 13" laptop runs $1200 .. $1500 with decent specs?? This isn't even in the ballpark of what a typical laptop costs.

I won't believe a thing until we see a blurred picture of the new 5S home button, a couple of ribbon connectors and an analyst confirming it all!

1. You can buy the Model A in any color you want, as long as it's black.
2. Not sure I follow you there, nothing appears to be condensed to me.
3. Maybe the Retina MBP

I bet the 5S will be launched in the Spring.

...if so, man...what a change.

After the iPad3/4 update, then that.....what's next?

Yes, speaker on the top, ear phones on the side, microphone detached, no battery needed and Safari must be way snappier.

Geez, how much can one do with a phone?

Never mind design/shape.

The entire category is almost played out until the next faster speed after LTE is available.

They'll put in NFC and maybe if the price is right more GBs.

We have everything essential.

And, if you go to the website to see the iphone vs. GalaxyIII:

It blends!

Plus - NFC would be a total waste. It's rare to even find a merchant locally who has it and this is in a city of millions of people.

I suspect they made do an iPhone5 rev 2 but it's a bit early yet for iphone5s.

I bought a 3rd gen iPad 3 months ago and they came out with a 4th gen. I'm going to buy the iPhone 5 next month and my chicken nuggets will ****ing pop if they come out with the iPhone 5S after 3 months again.

People don't seem to complain when other manufactures come out with the "tech of the month". Why complain when/if Apple does it?

I'm hoping for this. It would be the right time to upgrade from my trusty 3GS.

re: iPhone 5 screen size should have been proportionally larger.

- Virtually all apps Apps have black screen bars at top and bottom now - so they appear smaller because they are not full screen so to speak
- Or developers extended their iPhone 5 app height by adding useless space in it which is pointless but the only easy thing they can do and still maintain a codebase that works with the other "standard" size ..
- Photos taken with Camera are more disproportionate than they used to be when viewed on screen. This affects any app that takes photos and makes them way smaller on screen
- Website default views in Safari got smaller because they have to be zoomed out more to make them full screen (longer)
- There is a whole other host of issues that are subtle ... but cause major problems when trying to do cross platform now. Because the iPhone 5 screen size is a proportional black sheep compared to most other smart phones.
- The argument that it couldn't be proportionally larger (ie. a little wider too) got thrown out by Apple when they showed us that the ipad Mini (with a much larger screen size) still fits in one hand.

External forces are aligning the stars back to summer iPhone refresh.....
2013 has more serious competition:
1) Windows 8 phones just now trickling out
2) Blackberry 10 platform set for Jan 30th 2013 (for now)
3) Android - Samsung Galaxy S4 1st Qtr 2013

Also Apple has the traditional Spring iPad March hoopla/launch out of the way. And most early 4S buyers will be eligible for a full upgrade by May 2013. Can't lose them to any of the above.....

I would have no problem with them going to the s model being released mid cycle and the next version with newer chip, better screen ect ect coming once a year.

This is how it should be done.

Anyway so what. The world is gonna end in dec....... :p

I don't get ppl b like this. I have an ipad 3 and it's still just as good as when I bought it, it was never going to be top dog forever.

Nexus 4 better not be Q1 2013 as I intend to order one either tonight at midnight or tomorrow.
