With the addition of my 4th gen shuffle I recently bought, I now have six, although only the shuffle and my 6th gen touch are currently being used regularly.

I think I may have a 120GB classic and 160GB classic in the basement. After seeing what they're going for I need to get them out, charge them up, and see if they work.

Here's #389, the latest addition to my collection. An orange 5th gen 8gb nano, brand new, factory sealed in box. Now all I need in the 5th gen line up is a red 8gb and 16gb green models.

The best part about the purchase of this nano ? $65 shipped !! It's a no brainer, score !!

I have to get some pics together of the whole collection I have. I promise I will real soon !!

For now I do have a list of inventory of all that I do own. I'd post it but it's about 6 pages worth.

Pictures are much better anyways.

I had the iPod Classic 160GB many years ago before buying the second generation iPod Touch (before subsequently moving onto iPhone).

Although it's now 12 months old I've just placed an order for the sixth generation iPod Touch in case Apple *do* remove the headphone jack from the next iPhone.

I know there's a distinct chance Apple will offer an accessory as a work around but don't fancy cluttering my car up with cables (and whilst it's Bluetooth it doesn't offer streaming over Audio).

I purchased the 1st gen 4GB Black Nano as it was the first flash-based DAP, but moved onto other DAPs from iRiver and Creative in the 2000's. Then, I heard about the 1st gen Nano recall, so I was able to send it in for an 8th gen 16GB Black/Slate Nano. Even though the 16GB is really small and has Bluetooth capabilities, it isn't very feature-rich, so I mainly use my QP1R and iPhone 6 for my day-to-day activities.

I chuckled.

You need to clarify that. How many iPods do I own that I can find! I have two iPod Classics around here somewhere that I can't find. I found two Nanos, and can't find two stick shuffles. It's like damned socks around here. Where the heck does that stuff go?

And I hear it only gets worse as one ages.

Oh yippee!!!

I want to start this thread to see how many iPods the average person has or owns.

We'll for me I have 3 iPod touches
A nano and the other iPod with the camera built in. Then I have a old 32gb iPod and my silly iphone.

So I got in total 5 iPods lol I don't use any at all too.
I got two. One extremely antiquated first generation iPod,that been with me since Steve jobs said the magic words " there is a thing in my pocket",the other iPod I got,is the iPod nano with Color screen.

Technically six of them, four of them working. A current 6th gen iPod touch, a 7th gen nano, a 160GB 7th gen classic, a 2nd gen 1GB shuffle, plus a 5th gen nano and a first gen shuffle both with batteries that no longer hold a charge.

Seems strange that they don't hold battery charge. My first generation iPod still does, even if it's not as good as new.

I like "average" on a tech forum a lot :D. Anyway at the moment 3 working iPod Classic (last generation modded with 512 Gb SSD and larger battery), placed in our cars and in my purse. 2 64 Gb Touch docked in elder daughters' room, plus a list of Nano used or demised during the years (I recall 9/10 of them)

Here
I'm thinking of trading in my old sixth generation iPod nano that only has 8 GB of space for 10% off of a new iPod touch. I want the nano years ago, so I'm not losing anything.

Never used them. Nor Ping, nor Genius. iTunes has long become the bloated pig we used to deride when it was called Windows Media Player. That was even before it took a trip to the Freddy Krueger School of Beauty.

Happy enough with Vox or other lightweight players that don't have ideas above their station.

I'm at four now, here's what I've got:

iPod Classic 7G (160 GB, black) - This is my main iPod and I use it every day, IMO still the best iPod ever made and I even prefer it to my phone when it comes to listening to music on the go. I plan on modding it with a large SD card when the hard drive inevitably dies.

iPod mini 2G (128 GB, blue) - I bought this a year ago as a neat little project, it originally started out as a 4 GB mini with a worn out battery but now it's got 128 GB of storage and a battery that lasts far longer than the original one ever did. I originally used this for lossless listening but now I keep it as a backup for my Classic. Plus I absolutely love the design and it's just like the one I used to have, which was the first iPod I ever owned back in 2005.

iPod 4G (128 GB, HP version) - This is an ongoing project that I've been sitting on for a year, I was feeling good after revitalizing the mini and decided to do the same thing with another old iPod, one that I envied back in my high school days when it was new. Once it's finished it should have 128 GB of storage just like my mini, and I plan on using it with my desktop PC so I can use this for lossless files.

iPod Touch 3G (32 GB) - This was originally my mom's, I got it after my 80 GB iPod 5G died and I used it for a little while until I got my Classic. I used to bring it with me to the gym since of course it uses flash storage, but now I use my phone for the gym so this just sits around now.

Lately I've been tempted to get a 7th gen Nano when they come down in price, always liked the design of those.

Some serious iPod fans in here with impressive collections. Mine amounts to, 1 :D 60GB iPod Photo.
Never really had a reason to buy another one, I’ve always liked the sound of it and it’s got enough storage for me.

I still use it though, I am right now as it happens. 13 years of use, drops, years on the road with a band, god knows what else and the bugger still works like the day I took it out of the box (with worse battery life, really should replace that sometime.)

I love Apple Music and my iPhone for having pretty much all the music I’ll ever need and I love the freedom of my AirPods. But, and I’m sure plenty will argue against this comment. I prefer the sound of my iPod Photo and a good set of wired cans to anything that’s come out of any of my iPhones, even with wired cans. Maybe I’m just an old nostalgic chappie, but I’ll be sad if (when) the day comes when my iPod does have to go and live on a farm somewhere with all of the other old iPods.

Only One The iPad Pro.
LOL we're talking about iPods, not iPads.

Anyway, I bought a dirt cheap 20 GB iPod Photo on a whim last night and it'll serve as a new backup for my classic. The 128 GB upgrade actually didn't work out with the iPod 4G (slapped a 64 GB card in there), so that will go into this one instead. Ordered a new battery too since I don't trust 12-year old batteries.
