I've been excited about this product since day 1... Heck, I even justified the whole lack of port thing, but at this point. I finally gave up.

Woke up at 3AM EST, pre-ordered the rMB with 512GB, and showed 3-4 weeks. No worries, I am just going to pop into the nearest Apple store in Toronto and get it there.

Got to Apple store.. **Sorry, we don't have it in stock, not even in store display for you to try it on **

How long do I have to wait? entire 4 weeks. So I opted to get a macbook air 13 refurbished model for half of the price (vs rMB + adaptors)

Sorry, just feel like ranting

I'm sorry to hear that. I bet you'll still be happy with your new machine.

It's going to be hard waiting the next few weeks for my rMB.

Sorta did the same. But I went with the 2015 MBPR for actually CHEAPER than the MBR via my 10% discount. Much more powerful machine too & new track pad like the MBR. I don't travel so a ultra light laptop isn't needed I use it at home 95% of the time. And ultimately the form factor of the 12" MacBook was a tad too small since it has the footprint of the 11" Air. I really noticed the lack of wrist rest and the 1.3" smaller screen. I'll be waiting for a 14" MBR in V2 :)

the problem is.. i used to have a 15 inch rMBP, so it's definitely an adjustment for me since i can no longer have text + video side by side.

but the way I see it. once rMB 2 comes out (ideally with more port and better launch plan), I can ditch this and upgrade.

It's not too late you know....I'm pretty sure there going to start seeing the new MacBook on stores this week according to many apple phone representative....

But I feel you...I'm from Montreal and as soon as 3am hit the clock, I ordered it so fast and got 3-4weeks too :/....sucks to be Canadian sometimes...

But like I said, it's not too late

I'm just tired chasing after them as if they are doing me a favour for selling me an overpriced item.

here's my day for last 3 days.

1... morning: Check online status (no change

2... chat with apple spacialist.. tell me to call store

3... call store.. gets routed to contact centre.

4... go to store: gets told to buy it online.

What the hell is the point of this, Angela?

Angela's great new retail store strategy…you can look, but not buy :roll eyes:
I got up at 3AM to order and it will be here Wednesday (always worth it to me)

to piss the customers off and not make them happy. They want us to go to Best Buy it sounds like.

You're going to regret that.

maybe second gen.

but for now. for HALF of the price. I get

-faster processor
-more ports
-no need to bring dongle
-longer battery life
-better keyboard
- barely any noticeable weight gain
-bigger screen

if there had been more USB-C accessories or another port, then I might have waited. It's okay, I'm waiting for gen 2

You also got a poor quality display and less RAM. Two pretty important things in a computer. I think you are just trying to justify your purchase when you really wanted the MacBook instead but enjoy the MBA

Actually it has a better display than the 15" rMBP. So that is not in fact true.

By the time the dang thing arrives, you will be out summer camping with your family and you have to again wait until you can play with it. THEN there is something wrong but you missed the free return period. Call me cynical. ;)

Whoops my mistake. You are right. MBA is not even a consideration for me anymore.

Nor for me. The display is the one part of a machine that gets used 100% of the time.

I almost gave up. I have the rMBP, so I could wait until the second gen. But I know it's going to be worth the wait.

Who is Angela?

I was on the fence, leaning away, until I put my hands on one. I became completely convinced.

I'm already completely convinced and I haven't even seen it in person. Two more days until I can do that. But I do see how this chaotic launch can put people off from buying it.
