YEa, boyz.... yea....

seriously, we should not die over this, if u really don't like the thread, feel free to stay or leave (it's a free world) and your arguments are welcome, but this chat is for "people who want to let some anger out on apple" NOT a pro apple

come on guys...

I don't see why people are jumping down your throat. AT&T's site allowed the selection of the white one, only to show a "Coming Soon" notice upon checkout. Tease. So I swiftly ordered black.

I bet there will be a lot of swap offerings on eBay and Craigslist after the white one is released.

Like you said, any explanation would be appreciated. I expected Apple to release a statement the following day. If any other company did this, they'd be ridiculed. I don't understand why Apple is off limits. I love their products, but I don't worship at their alter either.

OP, you should have known that all of the psycho Apple fanboys would be out in full force defending their sweetheart company to the death. Take solace in the fact that just because you posted a complaint about Apple's business practices on an iPhone message board, not everyone thinks you are equating this to life or death. Not everyone thinks you are equating this to an organ transplant, or a crying baby, or whatever other brilliant responses there were to your complaint.

I am not a very big fan of windows. I've never gone to a windows related forum just to complain.

Obviously you don't hate Apple. If you did you wouldn't be upset that you can't have one of their products.

Apple never stated the white one would available on launch date. It seems like the OP is a bigger fanboy since he/she "hates" Apple now because he/she can't obtain a white iPhone.

From the pics we have seen, the white model is physically different than the black. The front, way up top above the earpiece.
This is a likely explanation. It's not just a different color. They may have changed that and they are in production later as a result.

There is nothing physically different except for the color. There have been at least a dozen threads on the topic, in fact. What you're seeing is the same sensor that the black has, but it's just more visible in white.

Did you watch the keynote at WWDC? Yes, they (Steve Jobs) did.

Direct quote from Steve Jobs:
"Well first of all, the iPhone 4 comes in two colors: black and white. They are both gorgeous. And, the price, with normal qualifications and 2 year contract, $199 in the U.S. for the 16GB model, same price as the 3GS, and $299 for the 32GB model. Now, I'm thrilled to also announce, that AT&T is gonna make an incredibly generous upgrade offer..." ~ "and these go on sale June 24th. Pre-orders start a week from tomorrow, June 15th"

did he actually say the white would definitely be available at launch? I am way too lazy to sift through the keynote right now.

iPhone 4 comes in either black or white and will be available in the US for a suggested retail price of $199 (US) for the 16GB model and $299 (US) for the 32GB model in both Apple and AT&T’s retail and online stores, Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores. iPhone 4 will be available in the US, France, Germany, Japan and the UK on June 24 and customers can pre-order their iPhone 4 beginning Tuesday, June 15 from the Apple Online Store or reserve an iPhone 4 to pick up at an Apple Retail Store.

Apple's own press release on iPhone 4 launch. That looks like both would be available for pre-order AND at launch.

If you look closely, it does not state that the white iPhone 4's will be available to the consumer on June 24th. It does say that the iPhone 4 will be available in stores on the 24th. And in a separate sentence it says that the iPhone comes in Black or white.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had the white ones in the store on June 24th, they may be in very limited quantities.

I understand that they are two different sentences. But the average consumer is going to read that as both being available. This is why everyone is so peeved. They feel misled.

I just want to express how frustrated I am with Apple and the lack of the ability to order the 4g in white. This is load of Cr@p. They very easily could have delivered the 4g in white, yet they reduce supply and watch as the mass-hysteria demand shy rockets through the roof! not cool. They make a great product, and i'm all about apple for life, but they are ingenious markets, to the point where they start to upset people.

I am also VERY angry that Radio Shack, (yes Radio Shack) had the ability to pre order white iphones for about a 1hr window....WHY THEM and no one else. And then when I questioned apple employees, they play stupid and say, they have no idea. they really need to tone it down a bit, I love em, and their a great a product, but i don't worship the holy Apple, and never will

get over yourself Steve Jobs, you are not creating life, just an freak'en piece of hardware...

If it's "just a freak'en piece of hardware", then why are you on here bitching and moaning about not being able to buy one in white?

You'll get a white one soon enough, and since it's "only a piece of freak'en hardware", I'm sure you've got more important things to be getting on with in the meantime.

Do yourself a favor and put down the computer. Go outside. You're taking this all a bit too seriously. Lighten the hell up.

Get over yourself pal ... and get off the high horse.

If you want someone to stop taking things seriously, I suggest you look at the OP's posts.

The OP has a legit gripe. All you're doing is whining about a whiner. If he's pathetic, you're twice so.
