If the Upgrade is around £100 to get it next week, i'll upgrade... Anymore... i'll just wait....

I am ready to buy my first iPhone, don't want a contract and was willing to pay £340 for a pay as you go. Wondering now if O2 will announce pay as you go phones for June 19th, after all the handsets are the only change, the network and sims are already in place for the iPhone Pay&go service.
Please O2, offer Pay&go on the 19th.
This doesn't look good - I'm not waiting until Jan 2010!
I don't understand why so many of you are saying that O2 should allow you to upgrade early.
