I'm currently running a Satechi USB 4 SSD enclosure with a Lexar NM790 SSD. I get ~3000 MB/s Read/Write on my Mac 1 Ultra. However, I'm running low on space and was wondering how many more of these I could add on until I start to see speed deteriorating. From my understanding each TB4 port is 40 GB/s so I could hypothetically run four of these enclosures without having it bottleneck my throughput speeds on my Mac Studio?

That’s correct. Apple Silicon makes have a TB controller per TB port/bus, although 40 Gb/s (not GB) is theoretical max throughput, in real world is typically 32-ish Gb/s. Buy good, short cables.

There are earlier MR threads about problems running too many buss powered SSDs on Mac Studios, if the drives try to draw too much power.
So the theoretical 4x40Gb/s or 6x40Gb/s for an Ultra Studio may only be available with some (2?) self-powered enclosures.
