A few months back on another thread, someone introduced me to a style I was unfamiliar with. Got a little work done and experimented. It's three-toned, debating on which to use. To me, it feels like the dot in the middle is a bit big and overwhelming. All criticism appreciated. :)

PSD is attached.

If you are going to make a logo, use a vector based program like illustrator. If you use photoshop, atleast make it extremely high resolution.

Actually i did offer to give you the illustrator files for free. But you said your brother didn't like the design and would stick with his 1950's cartoon inspired design :p

The origianl is well balanced as far as shape goes. Whats your rational for altering it. also i had afew ideas to soften the branding and give it some more personality.

If you're going to take design seriously then you really need to research and understand why a logo works. The fact that you hadn't heard of the acronym K.I.S.S. really indicates that you are very new to this. Graphic design comes in many flavours, and logo design is a specialist subject that people study for several years, so don't expect to just be able to 'knock something up' which will compete with the big boys.

Here's my offering: as I understand it, you sell electronic technology on a website (you mentioned Apple type items and commerce).

This logo emulates an app icon containing a generic phone to indicate the sort of business you're in. The positioning of the camera lens and speaker slot may be interpreted as a wink. The font (New York to Las Vegas) indicates that you respond to your customers swiftly.
