Large dose of salt required with these so called Pixel 2 renders but anyway:

Dual speakers and glass back? Still plenty of bezel given the way the S8 and F9 are shaping up.

Regardless, they're likely one of many options at this stage.

I suspect this is fake, but I hope to see something similar. I would love to see glass phones make a "comeback" from Apple and Google (I know Samsung has long been about glass backs).

That way, we can get wireless charging back into the mix -- something Google should have never abandoned in the first place.

It's a long way away, but bring on the Pixel 2!

The Pixel 2 is like 9 months away. Pointless to even speculate on it's possible design and features. Renders this early in the game are just plain dumb IMO

I agree. Given the history of renders on this site it's pretty easy to say the actual product will look nothing like this.

i manage to try oneplus 3T .. not mine but my bro's phone...
my own personal review of PIXEL XL and 3T..

SCREEN:
Side by side with my pixel xl... u can easily notice the screen difference.. color is richer on the pixel xl.. (QHD) ... speed almost the same..
aesthetically .. 3T is slimmer and better in the hand compare to pixel xl...

CAMERA:
3T camera is noticeably slower to focus and less details compare to pixel XL...
pixel have warmer tone... 3T is cooler... i prefer cooler tone.. but quality is better on pixel xl....

SOFTWARE:
nougat update is a bit cumbersome i need to manually download and update manually...
(its new to me)
pixel xl.. when update is roll out.. everybody gets it on the normal software update in the settings..
im not sure on the software part coz the 3T i tested is a china set(A3010) it was flashed to global rom by the seller..
china set 3T doestnt have 4G+ .. only 4G .... my bro is ok with this since he will use it in manila...
if im going to get for myself .. i need the global set /uk set because my telco supports 4G+...
i like the gestures built in on the OxygenOS .. and the battery % is bigger than my pixel haha...

iCONS on the 3T is BIG.. the screen looks smaller because of the big icons.. i think using nova can customize this..

HOME BUTTON/FP sensor

i didnt know that its not a real button.. its only like a haptic feedback.. and the haptic feedback is not that strong..

PRICE:
Oneplus 3T china set(A3010) SGD560 / 3T global set SGD780 (64gb)
Pixel XL : SGD 1600 UK ROW set. (128gb)

OVERALL:
i still love my pixel xl..
yes it cost more... but im happy with it... will wait for pixel 2...

I had zero issues with my Pixel but definitely glad I sold it.

The S7 range may not be perfect but it's far more mature as a phone platform. I'm happy to sacrifice buttery Nougat and a couple of other nice Pixel exclusives for how I routinely use my phone.

Pixel 2 will be great, I'm sure, and I'll probably plump for that, the iPhone 8 or Samsung S8.

2017 will be a wonderful year for smartphones, I'm sure.

That's the crux, no phone is ever going to be 100% perfect but you have to choose which devices niggles you can deal with or impact you less. Up to the Pixel the S7 was my best android device, but I spent most of my time with it trying to make it look and behave like a stock android device, and where I couldn't I accepted that. I had no performance issues really with my Exynos handsets and the battery life was great.

The pixel came as a surprise in the fact how much I have enjoyed it. It's made my android my primary used device which is a change as even with my S7E & S7 it still remained my secondary.

But I acknowledge stock isn't for everyone, and nothing in the pixel detracts from the strengths of the S7/7e and disregarding the Note 7 the 7e probably remains at least aesthetically looking the top android.

But I find myself in a rather good place with the pixel personally. I am saited appetite wise rather than merely content as I have been over last few years. I simply just enjoy using it, and have almost no niggles to write home about.

As expensive and overpriced as I think the pixel is, as stupid as its launch has been globally, it's the best buy android device I've had.

Random reboots on the Pixel isn't an isolated problem. There are a few people complaining about it. My father's Pixel is now doing the same thing.

What gives? There are more links and articles than the few. If you just search "google pixel random reboots" you'll find some more.

I have to know if this is a hardware or software issue before my return period is over. No one really knows the answer as to the cause. Reboots in safe mode too so not a rogue app.
[doublepost=1484837629][/doublepost]Talking to Google rep now. They have no idea the cause. My gut says this is a hardware issue. Something to do maybe with the memory storage?

Anyone can fathom any guesses?

The Pixel is a "Year Zero" phone for Google, and on those terms it's brilliant. Tbh if it was waterproof and had dual speakers, I'd probably have kept it!

I think the difference between the Samsung and Google cameras is subjective. Have to admit I prefer the Samsung right now - but as we've said before, it really depends on the time of day, as sometimes one phone will win over the other. But both are VERY good.

It's great. I'm so glad Google finally showed their hand and actually made a phone. There are things I still miss (the double tap to return to previous app was genius!!). I do think moving forward that the Pixel will define Android for many users over the next 5 years.

Can't wait for S8, iPhone 8, Note 8 and the Pixelate :)

I got a little more out of a rep that checked with higher level (tier 2? I don't know) specialist and she told me she's confident the random reboots are a software issue.

I am not as confident. Anybody have any thoughts or can shed some light?

After being on iPhones since late 2011 I think its time for me to tempt the water with android now that my contract for my 6S Plus is up. The lack of a headphone jack pretty much sealed my decision to skip the iPhone 7 Plus (I have a pair of Sony MDR100ABN's but I can't give up the convenience of being to plug them in without an easily lost adapter if I forget to charge them) and never mind having to keep using iTunes to copy music to my phone which is crap when you have multiple PC's you use often since you can't just add one song if you don't have the entire phone synced to the computer.

The little things in iOS 10 have finally wore me down into deciding to try a Pixel XL which I've put in an order for one. A very silver 128gb XL should be here next week with my name on it and I'm totally excited for something different. Last time I had a phone with android was my old Galaxy S which was a laggy POS hopefully this time will be better.

I've yet to have a single reboot on mine, I wonder if it could be carrier related. Have you tried using it without the SIM inside for a while to see if it has any reboots.

I thought of that, too, but my 3T doesn't reboot using the same SIM card. Yet another reason why I don't think it's a rogue app either. My 3T has all the same apps as my other Pixel that had the reboot issues too.

It either has to do with 7.1.1 or it's hardware related. If it's the latter, I need to return before my window is up. I do not want to deal with manufacturing warranty BS.

But that's the point I am getting at. If taking sim out and it doesn't reboot, it likely points that it IS a software issue with 7.1.1 and a configuration / conflict with your particular carrier.

If it continues to reboot after taking sim out and then after a reset, then I would be more inclined to think it was hardware issue.

You have to approach troubleshooting an issue like a monkey puzzle and rule out even the most unlikely ...

I've had my XL coming up on two weeks and I haven't had a single reboot. I also had the smaller variety for a week and had no reboots with that either.

Seems likely that it's either hardware related or carrier specific as MRU mentioned.

I've found a weird issue with Play Music on 7.1.1 myself today. The app does not appear in recents for me .. even with every app closed, I launch play music. Then when I press HOME and then go into RECENTS it's not there even if music is playing .... It's weird ....

Can anyone else check to see if it's just me or something new ?

Edit ... Seems I'm not alone

Another reason I don't think the random reboots are carrier-specific is because people have posted that they are on Verizon and have the same problem. I'm on T-Mobile.

I think you'll like it!!

Just remember that it will take at least a couple of weeks to fully acclimatise to Android. There will be things you like, don't like, miss from iOS etc...

But it's always great to at least see what the other side is offering. I was on iOS for 5 years, now been on Android 3.5 years.

I always try to use platform agnostic apps/services so that I can switch if I feel like it.
