cleaned up the desk a bit and added an e-mu 0202 usb dac. wish the e-mu 0202 had proper snow leopard drivers. prolly was a bad purchase on my part because of that (and no movement from e-mu on new drivers for osx in general in nearly a year).

Thanks! I live in Vancouver, BC. And the skin is from Unique Skins. I got the wallpaper from somewhere and used it to make a custom one. Pretty quick service.

I noticed your unique skin goes all the way to the edges, I have seen a ton of youtube video installs and they don't. I'm confused. I want one for my 13" uMBP but I'm not going to get one if it doesn't go to the edges.

Small update:

so ive wanted a laptop stand for a while but didnt feel like spending $50 on a nice one. so i built one.

i took a shelf looking thing off an old desk, cut off the edge of it, made sure everything was nice and smooth as not to scratch my mbp and super glued some cigar tubes to it. lol.

i put a felt pad in the back and the front lip to keep it from getting scratched if it does slide around a bit.
*snip*

That's pretty sweet, dude. I wish all Macbooks had screens that tilt back enough to use something like this (mine doesn't)

So old school: 13" MacBook, 4th Gen. iPod, Original iPhone in an Otterbox Defender case. TV setup is a 42" Samsung and a 160 GB Apple TV. And yes, that's an original XBox, a VCR, and a Nintendo 64 underneath. Told you I was old school.

I'm assuming that's an ikea desk but what about the part on top of the desk? Do you have a link to it?

Indeed it's an Ikea Vika desk. The top part is Ikea, too, but it was made from a shelf I had leftover from an Ikea TV unit, and I put 8" Ikea Capita legs on it.

You could do the same thing with some similar "shelves" that Ikea may sell. Ikea also uses Effektiv file frame fronts with the Capita legs as add-on tops for the Galant desks. The Effektiv pieces are shorter than the shelf I used, of course, but it's the same idea with having raised sections on your desk.
