nothing from DVI ports, digging out my Display Port to Dual Link Adapter

fingers crossed

I dont think I am following this at all. I managed to ID my 5870 earlier today with the kext on post #24 so why are we using other versions?

Here is for vapor-x
this kext is currently make one vapor-x 5870 to work.
second dvi port works.

Rominator, mac pro might need more work than hack, cuz maybe it needs card to be initiated.

What about for my 5870 which I dont think has vapor-x?

Has anyone who has this 100% done so on an actual Mac?

Wondering if I have flubbed something. Screens look great, but no QE/CI or OpenGl.

I DID try all of the ports...oddly enough they all seem to work. I have the 30" connected through DP through Apple's adapter.

However....can't run 3 screens at once...so no Eyefinity....yet

ill try without 2600 again

Tried without 2600...never finishes booting

Tried with 4870....4870 makes it to desktop, but 5870 screens are pixelated mess...lockup

Trying as I type with 3870...looks like same deal as 4870

Guess ill see what happens with 7300GT

Odd, I got a slight 'glitch' just now after installing the 3000 kexts. After restart when I logged in I suddenly had a bunch of purple lines, but my other monitor in dual screen was still working.

Rominiator. If I were you I'd clean out your kexts and start again. I was having lots of kernel panics when I was swapping the aty_init around, so I did them one by one from scratch. I even used kext utility to repair permissions and so on and I found that helped until eventually i wasnt getting kernel panics. Maybe it will help for you.

Are you guys using the openGL framework from the new Mac mini 10.6.4 image? Cause if you aren't, there might be some incompatibilities between the framework and the drivers. Juste wondering...

On a side note, what's with all these "frame buffers" and their fancy names? Where do they come from?

no problems for me.. watched mkv 1080 no problem whatsoever and played simultaniously with windows and effects
