same set up

Just bought a refurbished 13" 128GB/4GB MacBook Air. So stoked! I already have the 27" Core i5 iMac for my primary photo editing, but the Air will serve as my field editing computer. It's an amazing machine. Should arrive next week.

How many people use a case?

I have the same set up for the same reasons, the MBA runs LR3 great, and I use it tethered to my canon ( wired or wireless with eye-fi pro)
I don't use a case, but it slips into the laptop slip case in my lowepro trecker a treat, that also slips into the Kata backpack if I need something smaller for a day trip.
The MBA is a great tool, and works along side the 27" iMac just great!

I use a black "satin" Speck case on my 13" Air. Fits great and has a nice texture to it which makes it easy to hold on to. It is nice having the peace of mind that my air isn't going to get any scratches or dings on the outside.

I've had my MBA since November but I just have to gush about it again. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it :):) It's such a beautiful machine.

I use a sleeve from Joli Originals. They're gorgeous, very high quality and the customer service is great.

Hello all I guess my first post should be here.

I recently got from my lovely fiance a nice 2011 11'' Air, only the base model but that's all I wanted, and it's going great. It's my first mac-anything.

The bluetooth card in my otherwise pristine 2008 aluminium MacBook died a couple of weeks ago. Rather than cough-up the £350 for Apple to replace the entire screen assembly (?!), I've treated myself to an i7 13" MBA instead. It's been shipped and should be in my eager little hands next week.

This is my first new Mac in 3 years and I have to admit: I'm a little (alot) excited !:D

I killed my 2009 13" MBP while on exchange here in Vienna, Austria and ordered a 13" Air to reach it on March 19. Due to a bank issue and being out of the country for a bit, it only shipped today, but I should have it in my hands by Friday!

Just traded my 13" MBP for a 13" MBA with a family member.

They needed the extra space / ODD whereas I couldn't care less about that stuff and wanted the lightness, higher resolution display, SSD and the like. Plus, I got a new 1-year warranty.

So far, I'm very happy.

Part of the MBA family now. :D

Excitedly in waiting

Pulled the trigger on Saturday. Refurb 2011 11" i5 4gb 256gb SSD MBA from the apple store.

Email says it will be delivered today!

I wanted to wait, but because of pricing and the double QA check with refurbs it would be a while before the 2012 refresh shows up in the apple store.

I'll be migrating from a 15" MBPro. I'm going to love the portability! I just couldn't get used to using my iPad for my development work. I just couldn't get it worked into my 'workflow'.

I took the plunge today!

I just purchased a brand new 13" MacBook Air - i5 and 128GB SSD, to replace my old MacBook Pro from 2007. So far I'm loving it! I'm so happy! :D

My fiancee and I got iphones about a year and a half ago. We loved the phones so much that she got me a 2nd gen ipad for my birthday last year.

I spend entirely too much time on the ipad :D

My birthday was yesterday and guess what she got me this year? That's right a 13.3" MBA! So far I'm loving it! It's beautiful, too.

This is my very first mac computer and after using windows machines for the last 15 years it's a little awkward. I'm learning though!

Hi all.

I've been lurking (unregistered) for months, ever since it occurred to me that an MBA was probably the way to go if I wanted the combination of power/portability/support. Ever since, I've been researching OS X and the MBA, and I even acquired the new iPad when it came out, since it would logically work better with an MBA than my old wifi Samsung Galaxy 7".

Finally got the MBA today (13" base) and I'm delighted. Also very, VERY glad I spent the time putting the research in - even though I'm very proficient in Windows and have hobbied in Linux for some years, there are things in OS X that would have really disconcerted me if I had not been aware of them.

For now... I've a feeling I'm on my way to being a fully paid-up Apple fangirl...:D

I bit

OK, I was waiting for new updated model, but when looking at the refurbs, I saw the i7 model and just said, *%$@ it, it's mine. I won't be sorry, I keep my mac's until they become useless. Thanks for all your info on the MBA.

I bought a macbook air yesterday. Its an 11" from late 2010. 1,4 C2D 2Gb ram, 64Gb SSD. I know its the lowest specs but its more than enough for what i need it for.

The only issue i have with it so far is that whoever i close it, wifi turns off and takes about 10-15 seconds to reconnect when i open the air back up. Is there a way to adjust that to maybe wait 5min after the lid closes to turn it off?

Does anyone have any personal experience ordering refurbs at or around update time? I've heard that Apple will "call back" or possibly send the remaining "new in the original box" units to the refurb store. Has anyone ever received a unit with original packaging from the refurb store?

I have just joined the MBA club. Bought a white unibody MacBook in 2010 to try OSX and have since added an iMac and now the MBA. Bought a refurbished 2011 13" i5, 4GB, 128GB from the Apple Store and love it. Flash storage really makes a difference.

Also just joined the MBA club! Just bought a refurb 13.3 1.7 i5 model for £919. Should be with me on either Tues or Wed. My first post too!! Already starting to think about what apps etc to get. As an aside, can you use Crashplan in the UK? I notice their pricing is in US Dollars.

I'll eventually get an MBA. Does anyone think new ones will be released by July? If not that's when I'll probably pick one up, for my first year of college!

Finally

Been using iPhones and IPads for quite a while now, but took the final step from Win7/Sony Vaio Z21, to the gorgeous MBA 13 a week ago. Still fumbling around a bit in Lion, but im getting there... PS6 and Autocad2013 cost me a fortune though, but they are WAY faster on this hardware :)
