Safari navigation item issue I’ve worked around by installing Orion browser from the App Store.

Typing issues are infuriating.

I feel like for this beta they relied too much on vibe coding.

I am also affected by the error with the Magic Keyboard. I think it is exaggerated to call the whole thing "the worst beta of all time". I have the opposite experience. I think we will get an update next week.

It’s not the worst beta of all time😀But it is the worst 27 beta so far for me. I only have it on my iPad so I haven’t seen the phone specific ones, but on my iPad the very first beta was far better than all of 26. Now, not so much.

Same issue for me on my 11” M4, along a number of other minor niggles that were not there before.
I would agree that it is the worse 27 beta so far, in terms of how usage is negatively impacted.

It really is frustrating. I had thought this was the best beta that I had ever installed on its first release. So this beta 5 brought me down to reality. I had to pull up the onscreen keyboard to type this reply as using my Magic Keyboard with my M5 iPP doesn’t work. Sometimes even the onscreen keyboard can’t be brought up unless I detach the MKB first

Even if it is not meant to be evil. It is and will remain a beta, so you should also be friendly in advance with the fact that there will be errors. There have been much worse errors in the past. I think that in general it is the best beta cycle. By the way, I have been writing on the Magic Keyboard since Beta 1-5 and for me the advantages outweigh. I assume that we will get a correction next week (Beta 6).

The very first beta release of 27, as I stated above, was far better than the current general release of ios 26. So I, we, were lulled into complacency. This beta 5 is the worst so far. But the typing issue seems to be widespread enough that Apple is well aware, as on FBA it went to “more than 10 reports” status sooner than I’ve ever seen before.

With a beta, you should never be too excited too early and, as I said, errors happen. That is the point of a beta.

So far Beta 6 is a lot better. I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re frustrated with the keyboard issues.

My one bug bear is still there though, and has been since the beginning. I get random tab previews in Safari (the little preview box that appears when you hover over a tab with the mouse pointer) that won’t go away. Sometimes they just appear out of nowhere and the only way to get rid of them is to move the mouse to another tab and wait for that preview box to appear.

I’ve reported it but it’s unfortunately still in status “open”.

I get that too. But usually if I tap on another tab it goes away.
