The old Macintosh towers looked awesome. Very powerful looking machines.

The 9600's with the 'power bulge' on the side are even better. And there will always be part of me that wants the pizza-box case 6100.

I had a 9500 for a long time. This computer from the mid nineties could handle an obscene amount of memory for the time (1.5 GB), several drives (I had a burner, two 10,000 SCSIs and two boot drives all running at the same time), and two video cards and USB in the PCI slots which weren't even half full.
The daughter board CPU (dual 180 mhz) was swapped out for 300 Mhz and 500 Mhz G3 cards respectively.

The 9500 was notorious for having to remove the motherboard from the case to get at the memory slots, but even that didn't take long after several configuration changes.

Texas, unfortunately.
In addition to my first post in this thread...

I must admit I've been missing my 1.33 GHz 12" iBook G4 for a while since I sold it last year in July. Not enough to trade back my netbook for it (I love that little thing :D) but I can see myself buying another one someday just for nostalgia purposes.

Also wouldn't mind a decent spec'd iMac G4 15" if the opportunity came along.

A PowerMac G5 but from what I hear it's an absolute power suck. Plus it's just not worth paying the money people are demanding to get for it..

Depends on if you're holding out for a specific model. A single-processor G5 in good condition can be had for ~150ish if you look carefully. The DP models start around ~250, though. If you want one, though--do NOT get a liquid-cooled model. The cooling systems were only guaranteed to work for 1 year by the OEM--thus the massive post-warranty fix mess Apple got into with people who dropped $3k+ on towers that started leaking green fluid 13 months after purchase. Even today, if you bring in a liquid-cooled model, you have a chance of getting it fixed, free--although it's not the sure shot it was a couple years ago.

I'd love to have a widescreen iMac G4, and a Sage iMac G3--my favorite color for any iMac.

I've always wanted a powermac G4 for some reason. Nearly bought one in 2007 for £300 as my first mac, but that was a little bit too much for an old machine, considering buying one now - but the inevitable "what would I actually use it for" comes up :(

Love the idea of the Cube, but I have no use for it. I may get one anyway, I don't know. I WILL get these, however:

- iMac G4- any size screen, I just love these
- 12" Powerbook 1GHz
- Powerbook G3 Pismo

And in my dreams:
- 20th Anniversary Mac
- Macintosh TV

I believe the computer I used in Jr. High for computer class was a Classic II. I thought those were the coolest thing around. Black and white screen, the ability to play games, and you could store stuff on a disk that came out. Great times.

Finally got my hands on a working iMac G4! It's a 15" 1GHz USB 2.0. I was fortunate enough to find 256MB SODIMM, so the little guy has 512MB.

I also got the guts of a PowerMac G4 Cube whose condition is questionable. Currently, it sits under my bed in my dorm.

For me there is a long list... anyway, here goes:

20" iMac G4 - Coolest. Computer. Ever.
24" White Intel iMac - Complements my MacBook and I prefer White
PowerMac G5 - first mac I really wanted..
iBook G3 - First Mac was one of these, need one back
128K - The one that started it all!
17" and 12" PowerBook G4s (Launch Versions)
QuickSilver G4
iMac G3 Bondi
iMac G3 Graphite
Quadra 610
PowerMac 9600
PowerMac G3
*EDIT - Forgot - G4 Cube 500)

Boy does a lot happen in approx a year and a half... :D - Now my list is as follows:
20" iMac G4
iBook G4
128K
PowerMac G3 B&W
PowerMac G5 Quad (Just to sit next to my Mac Pro and render)
and a Cube of Cubes (8 * G4 Cubes)
Quicksilver G4
PowerBook 540 (Just because my 1400s arent retro enough... yet)

However, I like to think that knocking off the 24" iMac (I got a 17"er instead as it fits on my side-desk) and the iBook G3 (Got a Clamshell - so nice to have the Mac that (re-)started it all for me back) is a start... xD

G4 iMac, I've always wanted one of these. I wish I could use one as just a monitor.

I cant remember where, but if you look in I believe the Mac Mini forum (or Mroogle it) someone managed to get a Mac Mini inside a G4 iMac, and used the built-in monitor, so somewhere floating about there is a pin-out for that screen and instructions on how to in effect make it a monitor :D
