I just pre-ordered the 128GB Midnight for $300 (with AT&T installment plan) at Walmart.

I wanted to get Starlight but Walmart was already out of stock on the other colors in 128GB. I would've preferred 256GB but those were all out of stock, too.

Any place but here or there....
I went with Starlight as mom prefers white, and if her 6s+ goes in the next few months I’ll give her this Starlight SE3 and order a Product Red one for myself. Mom isn’t into technology and won’t accept something new unless she absolutely needs it. The 128gb is overkill for her for a phone, but…

The extra RAM, larger battery and 5G should be very helpful here.

Amusingly, my SE2 was heating up like crazy this morning shortly before the Apple store opened. I enjoy this phone and am glad Apple is continuing with it.

@GrumpyMom Ah now I see your screenshot. I prefer the deeper red Product Red tech, but am glad I went with Starlight just in case mom’s 6s+ goes. Thanks for your thoughts on Starlight too.

Is the black one really dark blue? If so, that's the worst color combination ever (dark blue back, black front).

Ever accidentally put on dark blue socks in the morning, thinking they were black, and then in the light, you realize they look totally stupid with your black pants?

Major DOH!

That SE3 red definitely looks better than the SE2. It’s slightly darker, almost Imola-like. Love it.

I preordered the midnight this morning. Now I’m second-guessing myself. Maybe I should have gone for the red.

I’m not sure how quickly the red appeal would fade, if at all.
I just received my red 2020 SE. It looks fantastic (I have a clear case with a Mach 5 covering the Apple logo). The 2023 red (as it appears online) also looks amazing. But one can't really get a feel for the colors from online images alone. If possible, check them out in person.

I love my Project Red 2020SE.

Enjoy yours!

If you look at the screenshot I posted of the comparison page on Apple’s site, it’s now a deeper richer red. I like it better now but know from experience with a deep red iPhone 8 Plus that it might not show through a clear case as well as the previous lighter SE2 shade did.
Yep the Product Red SE3 is the same shade of red as the Product Red iPhone 8/13 Mini.

This is the red to get.

That Midnight look interesting and is what I got. I was expecting black, like others mentioned here. But it actually looks pretty good...I guess for someone who always gets black phones, it's close enough.

I did just preorder after all. I decided it would be nice to have a small light phone to go with my spring dresses and small purses. I picked Starlight to match my Apple Watch and to go with all of my spring and summer clothes.

I had the Product Red SE 2020 when it was released. That was a beautiful vibrant color and I never got tired of it. But it did often clash with what I was wearing. I often use clear cases with these phones. I decided to go more neutral and soothing this time.

I’m gonna trade in my white SE2020 for a midnight (dark navy) SE2022. I would have gotten starlight, but it’s basically cream/off white with a hue of pink to it which I am not keen on.

Lol I’m actually glad to hear this description of Starlight as I was hoping it would look like this. Usually I prefer stark white, but this year I was in the mood for Starlight.

Midnight is a very nice color and I think it hides the antenna bands very well. But I wanted a light spring color.

Got a 12 Pro Max but I would pick the Red if I were buying an SE. Red would be the only thing to make me buy an iPhone pro Max 14 this year. Otherwise Im using the 12 Pro Max till it dies.

Liking the richer, more contrasty red on the SE this year, big improvement over the previous model.

Saw starlight in person, didn’t have a pink hue. 👌

I’d go for it.
