When you press the home button twice quickly on the iphone, a row of icons pop up on the bottom to allow fast switching between recently opened applications.

Can I turn this feature off?

My current iphone has a glitch where when I press the home key one time, sometimes, the quick app switching bar comes up, instead of exiting a particular program.

I'm sure I can get apple to switch me out a new one. But I've customized it and jailbroken this phone that I really just want to turn off the feature for the "fast app switching"

Is this possible? or do I need to get my phone switched out at the apple store?

To turn off multitasking:

1. Use OpenSSH and SSH into your device
2. Navigate to: /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app and look for a .plist file starting with 'N'
3. Open it in a text editor and change the value of multitasking from true to false.
4. Restart the device.

Thanks Baggy! MyOS worked perfectly.

Only I now lost portrait orientation lock. 😕
