I currently use vmware and am quite happy with it. The only problem I have is using an optical drive (LG Bluray drive) connected via usb. Whenever I try to use it I get an error saying no disk in drive however it works fine when i reboot right into windows. I was wondering if anyone is able to use external drives under a virtual box? My main goal is to rip/watch blu-ray without having to reboot completly into windows:(
any input would be appreciated.
thx

OK the title is not relevant:rolleyes:

Is it not clear what I'm asking in this post?

I am looking to use an optical bluray drive connected by usb under a virtual machine. I am currantly using vmware with no luck. Anytime I try use the drive I get a "no disk" error.

Does anyone here on this site rip blurays using vmware or paralells?

Whoa! Ripping BluRay DVDs is kinda illegal...

You might want to try to update your BluRay driver in Windows. Also, maybe see if there's a better application to use.

ok, watch them then:p

basically just want the optical drive to be able to work under virtual machine.

The drvers in windows are all up to date.

What other application do you mean? I have Any Dvd HD and Power DVD to watch movies...
