i just want to know whether the updated 15" unibody macbook pro screen is better than the 1st gen unibody macbook pro?

Thanks

They did, Apple.com says it has a 60% great color gamut, which means it can display 60% more colors. Also contrast is enhanced, although there is still no mattee option.

Not quite. It can still display the same amount of colors as any other 6 bit panel, it will just have more dithering.

What about the pricing in the UK? Is it cheaper now? I'm interested in the mid range model; what kind of updates did it get?
I should have taken a screenshot of the page before the update...

^^^If you don't know the previous prices, does it matter if they're cheaper now or not? How could it possibly factor into your decision? Just look at the prices and decide whether the price is worth paying for this product.

Oh, and the screen is different, as discussed. It's still a 6-bit (or 18-bit for R, G, and B), but improved.

You'd like to be able to say, oh, I waited a bit longer and now I bought this model for cheaper, no?
Well at least I do. ;)
