I recently purchased a MacBook Air to supplement my MacBook Pro. I bought the base level Air, with the 64gb hard drive, and have a 1tb drive in my MBP. I want to essentially share all of my files that are saved on my MBP so I can access them from my MBA when I am on my home network (would like to be able to do this over the web too, but first things first). So I turned on file sharing and I set it up to share my photos folder, my music folder and my documents folder. I set up a user account to access them with, and I'm good to go. Only, I can access the folder, but I can't access any of the folders within that folder. I have to go in and turn on permissions for each internal folder, and for each internal file. That doesn't seem to be right. I HAVE to be missing something here.
I'm running Snow Leopard on both of my Macs. Tonight I'm trying to work on an iWeb page on my MBA and trying to put photos into iWeb from my MBP but can't access the photos. It's driving me crazy. Macs are supposed to "just work" but it's not, and I can't figure out how to make it work.
