since my lock button broke (currently sorting this out with insurance) i havnt been able to screenshot anything. i have browsed the app store and couldnt find anything. i was wondering if anyone knew of any on the app store as i havnt jailbroken. thanks in advance :)

I think you are SOL for now, there are a couple of app on the jailbreak side, but all app that take SS were taken off the app store when this functionality was included on IOS. (since it will violate the developers agreement by replicating a build in functionality)
 
Wait...you can take screenshots with the lock button? How long have you been able to do this? HOW?

Push the lock button and the home button at the same time. Screen shot will save to your camera roll/photos.

Push the lock button and the home button at the same time.

To the OP - there really isn't anything out there for non-jailbroken devices.
 
No app, but with in iOS5, you can take a screenshot without a working power button. The little AssitiveTouch icons are just in the picture, too..

WTF? :eek: Read the date on the last post in a thread before you post to it. Anything you can add to a thread that ended more than 2 years ago will be irrelevant in the current/supported Apple product timeline. iPhones don't even have lock buttons anymore. :rolleyes:
 
Turn on assitive touch in settings general accessibility.

Puts a small dot on your screen. You can move it. Tap it to open it. Select device. More. Then there's a screen shot button there.

now that is something I did not know about. lol I had not idea you could have gestures on your iphone
