So without looking at the activity monitor I want to know how you check up on what application is actually running. Like in windows when you minimize at application it shows up on your task bar.

What about mac?

If i minimize it, it just goes inside the icon and I usually forget about it.

All applications live in the dock. The ones that are running have the little light/arrow below the running app. When you quit an app, the arrow will go away. If you minimise anything, it will go to the right side of the dock.

Except background tasks and toolbar apps.

Hey. I usually wait for someone more experienced to answer. I've been a mac user for a day and a half so far lol

but when you minimize an app, it goes into the dock and has a little blue light right underneath indicating its still running. When you quit the little light blue light should dissapear.

Hope this helps!

I've been using my first Mac for 6 weeks and never noticed that! Cheers :D

Mine isn't blue. Its more white/grey I think. Any way to change the color to something more obvious, like BRIGHT NEON PINK? :D
