I ordered an iPhone 4 but Apple shipped me a iPhone 3G instead..

I unboxed it and activated it.. the simple procedures. But on the main screen and any screen it says 3G at the top. Its right on the top left. I ordered the iPhone 4.. not the iPhone 3G. So why does my phone always say 3G on it?

Should I return it?
 
Uhhh...... The 3G on the top next to AT&T( or whatever your carrier is) means your on their 3G network. The iPhone 4 does not have 4G capability.

Don't know if this is a joke or being serious.....

That does not imply the phone, it is the data connection. 3g looks nothing like the iphone 4. Search for 3g phone and see how it looks.

You got the iphone 4 dont worry enjoy it!
 
So, you have an iPhone 4, but you have 3G service. The top left doesn't indicate the type of phone you have but the type of service you are getting, either Edge, indicated by a capital E, or 3G, indicated by a 3G.

What you bought and activated is the "iPhone 4" which uses AT&T's 3G network.

You're lucky, at least you got a 3G.
I switched that thing on that they sent me, and instead of 3G it says "E". Did they send me an ePhone instead of an iPhone ??
 
Hold the phone with your left hand and make a call.. if the call doesn't drop, it's an iPhone 3G :D

(chill IP4 fans, it was a joke).
