do you? i wanna buy a mbp right now cuz my school starts next week but i'd wait if there are new coming next month

so what do you guys think? i havent checked any news for a long time so i dunno if there were any about new macbook pros

MBPs were updated only 5-6 months ago. The usual time between the updates is 7-10 months. I'm guessing early 2011, no good reason to update before that

Other companies are using the new Core i CPU's right now, can't see any reason why apple won't have a silent update for the 15"&17" in the next month or so.

So Yes:)

What are "new" iX CPUs? 133MHz CPU bump is negligible. We don't want an update now as it means that the Sandy Bridge update will be pushed further away.

They are speed bumps, though I am sure you are aware of this:rolleyes:

A silent update to the new CPU's will have zero effect on when Apple will begin to implement Sandy Bridge.

Yes

I think there will be an update soon. There have been a lot of promotions running for 13" macbook pros for $999 as if they're trying to move old inventory. Also it makes no sense to leave the core2duo in the 13" while upgrading the 15" and 17" to i5/i7.

I would guess the new round will be out soon (by December), and include i3/i5 and dedicated video option for 13" mbps.

At least that's what I'm holding out for.

not saying that there will not be a slight speed hike...but these promotions are not new..and are of no significance in moving inventory or indication of a refresh

Even if the new release doesn't come for a while, I would recommend waiting if you are looking at a 13" model. Because 13" macbook pros don't have dedicated graphics, there's little reason to get one of these instead of a macbook or macbook air. Why is it a pro if it is no good at video editing or use with multi-displays?

the 13 mbps have absolutely no problem with video editing, I run FC on it all the time, works just dandy, some would prefer a higher res screen but that's another subject

the 320m is underrated
