I've had all of the beta versions of iOS 4.2 and now the GM, and it's looking like AirPlay was removed from the iPhone 3G. iOS 4.2 Beta 2 had AirPlay available on my 3G, but now with the GM, it's missing. And before you ask, yes, I'm on a network with an AirPort Express that has AirTunes enabled. I can play to that AirPort Express through iTunes on my Mac Pro, so I know that it's not the network or the AirPort.

Has anyone with 4.2 GM on an iPhone 3G been able to get AirPlay to work?

If Steve wants me to upgrade, he should release White iPhone 4 or the iPhone 5 already.

If you had a 3G why would you even want to be on 4.XX. It's horrible slow and sluggish. People with 3G should not expect anything more.

To make it more "snappier" I suppose.

Actually, I have heard that some additional optimizations were made for the 3G, but is still may not be worth upgrading off of 3.1.3.

People need to keep in mind that nothing has been "nixed" from the 3G. It may not have had something "new" added, but no features have been removed. It does everything today that it did the day you bought it (except run smoothly) ;)
