Got my Hula yesterday from Case-Mate. I went directly to their offices and they had just received a new shipment in. I have a bumper and tried the Griffin. The Hula is the best by far. Buttons on this one are easy to press. Case-Mate stated they had some returns due to peeling and they have remedied that with the new batch. When putting mine on it did scrape the rubber surround but it has been in and out of my pocket for 2 days now and its not peeling. If you like bumper style cases, this is one to look at. Another interesting note is that I got to see some prototype cases coming from Case-Mate soon. Be watching their website as they have a new style bumper coming that may appeal to many. I also say the new Barely There 2 in carbon and leather. They will have colors on these as well. Good stuff and great people.

Any hints on what the new style bumper is? I just ordered the Hula. Don't tell me there's already something out there that may replace it.... My case collection is getting out of hand :p

Just ordered my Hula case in Black, i'll post a video review as soon as I get it.

Just a heads up. Griffin has re-designed their version. I have a thread about it. At first I thought it was a counterfeit version or something. They have one large cutout for the volume buttons/silence button. The bottom has a large cutout which helps with 3rd party 30 pin connectors, and a large headphone jack cutout. I guess they heard their fans complaints. Amazing bumper type band !

The griffin shows less of the antenna band tho. shows more black rubber. that put me off buying that.

they addressed the peeling issue eh....interesting...

Titanium eh? Interesting.

I got my black hula today. Initial impressions vs the Hybrid EX:

1) It's slightly slimmer than the EX. Very minimal "lay on the table" lip. Ideal for people like me that want as low profile a case as possible.

2) Tight fit. It fits much tighter than the EX. In fact, it's install and remove in comparison. Although the EX is nice and tight after you install the plastic outer trim, I am noticing the inner rubber band is starting to loosen up on the edges (especially on the bottom port area). Not sure why SGP made the inner band so loose fitting. The rubber(?) edge on the Hula is very sturdy and fits tightly against the phone. A major con though is that it made my power support screen protector bubble. The included screen protectors are noticeably thinner than the PS ones but the cut on them is pretty bad. They don't really line up perfectly like the ones I've used from SGP/PS. However, because it's so tight, I'd expect it to keep out dust much better than the EX. After a month or so I had a ton of debris underneath my EX.

3) Looks better. This is a bit subjective but from a couple feet away it looks close to a naked phone. I have the satin silver EX and it looks like cheap plastic. Up close you can tell there's a clear band around the antenna but I personally like the look much better. The hula definitely retains more of the naked look if that's what you prefer.

4) The hula has a slightly larger opening for the charger port. This however is not enough to fit many of my 3rd party cables/chargers. My solution was to sand down the edges of my chargers with a dremel. Doesn't look as clean but it looks like that's the only solution with bumper cases for now.

5) Grip. The sides offer more grip than the EX which is quite smooth. I've never dropped my EX but the extra grip is welcomed. The black rubber trim is also much gripper. For example: with the EX, you can push/slide it across a table without a lot of resistance vs the Hula which has a lot of friction since it actually grips the surface.

6) Stiff buttons. I've had a cheapo bumper case with much stiffer buttons. The volume buttons are not that stiff IMO. They are definitely not as responsive as a naked phone, Apple bumper or the EX but not nearly as bad as I expected from other people's complaints.

So far I'm liking this bumper. The bubbling issue is definitely a con, but my PS front shield needed to be replaced anyway. What is everyone with a Hula using? I have a couple SGPs and phantom skins I may try. It seems like the PS shields are just too thick to play nicely with this bumper. I may just leave it naked. I had forgotten how useful the oleophobic glass is since using for screen protectors so long.

Definitely the hula.

I have to respectfully disagree. Now with the griffin reveal frame redesigned, no button pushing problems, better made case. Hula's black rubber wears off. Griffin's never will. This is also where Griffin wins that battle.

I just received a replacement black hula, bc my green was peeling. And the rubber on the black seems stiffer and the lock button seems a lot stiffer. Maybe it's the revised non peeling rubber.

I am deciding b/t the Hula and the Reveal Frame. By reading through some threads, it would seem that both cases have been revised due to complaints. (i.e. rubber peeling, stiff buttons..)

Casemate is running a 25% off deal today with free shipping which would put it at $15 shipped. Reveal Frame would be $30+ shipping. Which is the better case? I plan on using it with a skin or screen protector on the back.

I like the look of the Hula better, but feel that the Reveal Frame may offer better protection. Any of you have the updated models of either or both of these?

How's the Hula working for those who bought it not long ago?

Are there still rubber pealing issues on those new batch Hulas?

I ordered a black one from Case Mates site, already on it's way.

Trying to revive this thread. Does anyone have the updated versions from Case-Mate/Scosche/Griffin - do they still peel and have difficult-to-push buttons?

i originally wanted the hula but couldnt find it anywhere, even online so i just settled for the ebay knockoff. it does its job but dust definitely collects pretty easy
