It's a laptop memory stick. iBook and PowerBook users take notice!

Too bad my iBook won't see any more than 640 MB.
 
I bought that same one for $150 a few months ago, haven't had a problem and my system is very happy 😀

Two maybe, but one definitely. Have heard nothing but good about them....
 
They now corrected the price on the page itself as $189, more expensive but still rather sweet for us europeans... thinking of getting one for my 1,33 powerbook.
 
The $30 discount is a mail-in rebate. There was a PDF form that you needed to download, complete and mail in to get the $30 back. You will pay $189.99 at checkout. The invoice has to say January 13th in order to get the rebate. I called outpost to see why the rebate is gone from the web site and they said that there's a problem with the PDF rebate form. The product manager for this line comes in to work at 4pm EST and, apparently, only he knows about the rebate for this product. When I called, the customer service rep took my email address and said he would get the product manager to email the rebate form directly to me. If you've already placed your order and didn't get the rebate form from the web site, I suggest you call outpost and talk to customer service to get the rebate form.

I haven't decided if I'm going to place an order yet (although, I may if I get the rebate form), but outpost claims they can ship this memory today (in order to qualify for the rebate) if you order by 11pm EST. I would call to make sure though.

Edit: PS, thanks for the find Maya... this is a pretty sweet deal.

Last time this was in stock, they refused to send to non-US addresses. I shipped to a friend that I was about to go visit with.

Yes, but if you look at the picture maya posted, it had been $160 BEFORE the rebate.

They didn't have the rebate. Apparently it was an error on their part, and instead they gave me a credit to my card for the $30! So I got the stick for a $129+ship. Great deal!

i also got the memory for 159.99. i guess i just got lucky. They already shipped the item so i am happy.

plan on calling outpost about the rebate tomorrow anyone have the pdf? If so pm me. Not that 159.99 is not good but i would like 30 bucks more. 🙂 Thanks

Yeah, there's a huge thread about this Outpost 1GB stick of RAM somewhere, and people generally had pleasant things to say. 🙂

And as someone already pointed out, this is laptop RAM. 😉

OWC sells SODIMM, 200 pin, 1GB of RAM starting at $230 or so. It's OWC branded RAM, but you'd figure that OWC sells so many brands of RAM, and they probably don't "make" their RAM, so they probably just rebrand Samsung RAM or something, as Samsung is one of (or they ARE) the largest maker of RAM in the world.

My point is: I don't know who makes this Outpost RAM, so I just paid a bit more to get more reliable RAM with a better guarantee. Oh, and I don't have to mail in rebates. 😉

i thought that your iBook G3 could take the 1gb i remember seeing somehting about this ?
