I'm considering packing away my old Macpro with it's esata RAID.
I want to slim down.
I was able to edit my last project in the clients office on the 1st gen Mac Air with only a few hiccups.

Is the new Mac Air 13 i5 capable of editing HD video?
I would like to be able to just use the Macair- a 27 TB display and a TB drive.
My projects are fairly simple.
Events, webiste promos, Interviews and photo montages.

I don't see why not. It will obviously not be as fast as a quad-processor, but it will work. Are you looking at the TB RAID?

I'm able to edit video (ProRes 422) using FinalCut Pro X on a 11.6" MBA just fine with the internal drive. The only TB drive out is the Pegasus TB RAID and the read /write is about 800mb/s which is about 2.5x the speed of the built in SSD.

yes- I'm considering the 4TB Pegasus.

I currently have a beast- Caldigit 8TB RAID ARRAY sitting on top of my 2008 Macpro. I no longer edit spots for broadcast. My projects have become simple edits for online or home use (events). I still use Motion or After effects once in awhile- but I still wait on renders now with the Macpro- if the MacAir forces an extra few minutes- so be it.

I'm curious to run a test.
I work from home and I like the idea of clearing out the extra clutter.
