Post Your Mac Setup: Past & Present (Part 16)

Work in Progress but i am building a desk as my other one is not working the way i want it to. here are some pics of the desk being built and a pic of my cat. the notch in the 2 and 3 pic is for a concrete column in my room. the old desk cannot sit flush and is away from the wall about 14in and i want the new one flush with the wall if you can tell in the pics there is a space at the back of the desk for cables to go through. i am going to reuse the other desks cable trays to help with cable management.

This is my current setup, I also have a Sawtooth plugged in at the other end of the desk but it's rarely on now since I got my G5.

I couldn't live like that. One day I'd hang myself on one of the cables from all those cables.

Have you not heard of this phrase before???

Having less of something and keeping things simple can be more effective.
But theres probably a far better analogy out there

Inspired by MacJones post in this thread a while ago I looked at the Ikea LEDs - but then came across some amazing LED strips on amazon that come on a spool. very flexible - and with a remote!

Trouble is, I get things tidy....A bunch of musicians rock up, I set all the studio stuff up which involves even more cables, and I'm back to square one....The pictures in my post were taken on a good day.......Some cables just can't be put in conduit...The stuff is portable and comes with me to the studio etc.

Any suggestions?....Apart from hanging myself that is

Haha well to be honest it was just my desk, throughout our house there is even more Apple junk (TC, Airport Express, ATV, old Macs/peripherals, iPods, iPhones, iPads etc etc). Keep in mind that these pictures were past and present stuff, latest one is the current situation. I just love Apple hardware like most of us here. And it seems that I'm far from finished. Thanks for comment though O if I would count all the Apple thingies I have hmmm well close to a hundred would be not a bad guess

Desk is over 10 years old now, can't recall, don't like it to be honest, looking for something like this:

Except for the stand, will be putting stainless steel square legs under the desk, hope it will improve the looks cause I like solid wood. Btw; tomorrow I'm going to get my 17" G4 iMac 1.25GHz, niceeee. Gonna get it updated with 2GB of ram and a nice quiet fan + SSD right away

Is an SSD even necessary in a G4? Especially for a file server?

More quiet and less heat, and, in fact, a little speedboost indeed maxing out at 95-100MB/s (ATA100) and better access time. But the latter are not really important to me.

Thank you. It's actually not a desk but a regular table (6 person dinner table) and it's from a Dutch store called Leenbakker.
The wood type is acacia, though there are actually quite a lot of different kinds (color-tints) of acacia. All it says on the receipt is 'acacia brown', so I don't really have any more details...

Here is my setup. Not pictured is the iPad 3, it's at my office, and iPhone 4 and 4s, which are in use.

What gen iPod are these?

A couple recent changes:

2009 Mac mini 2.0 C2D 4GB RAM inside mod Classic G4 Cube running SL & Lion to 23"ACD..

2009 iMac 2.66 C2D 8GB running Lion..

1992 NeXT Cube (future Lion/ML Server mod w/TBD)

4S and iPad A5X
