I've got a couple of hard drives stacked and daisychained on my desk, and as you can imagine, there's no need for such long cables when the ports connecting them are so close.

They're also just behind my iMac, meaning there's little need for a long cable for that, either.

My G-Drive Mini came with a 0.6m cable, which is perfect in this situation, so I'm wondering where I can get a couple more at this length? I can't find any on the G-Technology website nor eBay.

Need FireWire 800, 9-pin to 9-pin.

I bought come 50mm (around 3 inch) FW 800 cables from this guy a few years back (right angle and straight). I bought them for similar reasons to you. They only appear to sell 6" now. The cables worked well. You could probably get them made up.
