I like the screen size of the 5 5s. I would have loved if apple came out with the 6 in a 4inch model.

The design is something I can live with. The way I look at it. I thought the iPhone 5 with the chamfered edges was really beautiful. But it's like apple has to change the design.

I will probally end up getting an 128 gb iphone 6 space grey.

I kinda liked the idea of apple being different than other mobile phone companies. And I thought the model of the company was not to cave in to the market. i.e. Coming out with products you didn't know you wanted. Etc.

And I think at this point I don't see them going back. Like let's say I would find it really hard to see the iPhone 7 released with a 4" screen.

My concerns are trends I see in the company. Like the leaks. A few years ago before there was an announcement there would be rumors. But they were just rumors. I could see a dummy version of the iPhone 6 before the keynote. But like the screen size I don't think you can go back.

I know Steve jobs had a lot to do with it. I saw a press conference when Steve was really young. I think he along with Wozniak had just started apple. And a reporter asked him a question about an upcoming product. And you could tell he was excited but said he wouldn't answer any questions about an upcoming product.

To me his approach from a business sense was quite unique. Anyway I love apple. I even own a couple of shares of stock. And like I said I don't like the idea of doing something like other mobile companies. I have barely even looked at another brand of phone.

Anyway like I said I will probally end up getting the 6. I have bought a new iPhone since the 3GS.

The iwatch I thought looked really nice. Can't wait till they are available.

You will get tired of 5.5" screen in the long term. 4.7" is perfect size, not too big not too small. It's the size I've always wanted since iPhone 4S.

I guarantee 5.5 will be the first to sell out

Selling out and selling more are two different things. I am willing to bet a lot of money that the 4.7" will sell the most. If the 5.5" does indeed sell out, its because Apple wasn't able to make enough.

The 4.7" will definitely sell the most.

It's cheaper and more in line with Apple's previous releases.

Funny how they hated Samsung with all the phone is too big comments, and the claims that Apple Will never release the 5.5 inch screen. Now there all getting ready to camp outside of bestbuy with their Coleman stoves.. just too funny how you read all the past threads and comments that dissed big screen phones and now you see the same people drooling over the iPhone 6 plus now. They always claim that Apple won't do this and that, and then when apple does it they have an all new excuse... This is better than comedy, just search the apologist past threads and you will get a good laugh..:D

Who are these "they's" and "you's" you keep referring to? I didn't realize all Apple fans were this one big monolith who did and said everything as one being and no one ever expressed a differing opinion ever.

Trust me...

The iPhone 6 Plus will not seem too big at all.

Initially, it will. After a few days of use you will wonder why it took Apple so long to do the right thing.
When I saw a 27" iMac in a small shop, it looked massive. When I bought it and took it home, it didn't take too long before it didn't seem overly big on my desk :)

When I first saw the larger screens on an Android device I thought "Way too big for a Phone", but since then I use my iPhone more for video and media consumption, games and text chats of various types way more than I use it as a Phone. The larger screen will work better for me in many ways,so I'm definately going for the 5.5".

The only people I laughed at with the larger screen phones were a few people I knew who used it only as a phone - they would have been better off with a smaller and cheaper non-smart phone as they never used any of the smart phone features at all.

I still want a top shelf smaller phone option. I still don't like that they are being abandoned.

My perfect phone is 3.5" with as small a phone as possible wrapped around it.

I guess I just debunked your observation.

If people are digging around back through the ages to find old posts then they have too much time on their hands, what is worse?

Times and opinions change. I still prefer the smaller devices though and the iPhone 6 Plus is totally impractical for me.

Just a few questions for you when you stop laughing:
1. Who in in invented the first home computer?
2. Who invented the mouse?
3, what computer was the internet built on?
4. Who saved the music industry with an MP3 player?
5. Who in invented the touch screen mobile phone?
6. Who invented Apps?
I could go on, however, all that needs said is 'Yes' Samsung is a great phone'. However what did they invent or innovate? Thats right; nothing. Samsung copy, they always have. Lets face it Apple has the iPhone 5S, Samsung comes up with the S5! They even copy the name. There is a reason Apple is 'loved', and if you don't feel it, well, thats fine, but don't mock those who understand art, passion, innovation & a superior product. As I said, Samsung make a great phone. Well done in making your choice.

Didn't really need the Apple fan boy 10 commandments, most of my my products are apple. Just wanted a bigger screen..

I think they shouldve given users the option to buy a high end smaller phone with the new casing and internals... I do wonder if the design wouldve been compromised in any way as a result.

I'm actually one of the iPhone users that left Apple for Android because of bigger screen sizes. 4" size was just way too small for me. Now that Apple released the 5.5" iPhone I'm ready to come back.

Same here. Note user myself, all generations. The iPhone 6+ is why I'm coming back to Apple. Besides, it has a smaller width and depth and weighs less. So it will feel better in the hands. It also has rounded corners unlike Note 3 and 4 which will make it more ergonomic and will make it feel even smaller in the hand.

Also, the thinner size and rounded edges will make it easier getting into a pocket.

Man some of you really obsess over one quote from Steve Jobs back in 2009. Back then the bigger screens were low resolution, saturated, and required batteries that made the phones like .75" thick. The screens also were unresponsive. Just terrible. Could they have made a 4.3 or 4.7" in 2012 for the 5? I don't know enough about LCD technology to comment on that but I know for a fact Apple does not like OLED screens, so that option was out. And at that time, OLEDs weren't very great to view in sunlight, so that's another compromise Apple wouldn't make, if you know Apple.

It was never about the size of the screen, it was about the resulting size of the phone in regard to the 4.7". For the 5.5", I'd bet there wasn't a market for it at the time the 5 was released. Jobs is dead and Apple is still a gigantic business. They're not holding back features to honor a quote Jobs made comparing crappy brick Android phones from 5 years ago to Hummers.

I still love using my 4S--perfect size for a gal who stands 5'0"--but, alas, I suspect it'll run like molasses on iOS8.

I'm really interested in the whole Apple Payment feature, but the size of the phone is a likely deal breaker for me. I've tried my brother's Galaxy 3 on multiple occasions and it's just too awkward to use. The 4S felt natural and comfortable in my hand the moment I picked it up. I just can't say the same thing for the Galaxy.

Since it's high time for an upgrade, I will check out the 5S against the 6 (4.7") to see if the new features are enough to make up for the size.

If that makes me an apologist or a hypocrite, then so be it.

Agreed.

Apple is becoming a "me too" company if you read that PocketNow article.

Steve Jobs said they would never build a mini tablet as 9.7 inches is just enough. Apple went on to build an iPad mini. Steve Jobs once said no one will buy a big phone. Apple went out and build a phablet seeing the phablet demand is huge in Asia. SJ has been wrong before. People just end up eating their own words later.

I admire and respect the late great-SJ in alot of ways. But not everything he said was right for everyone. In technology, you either learn to adapt to changes or get left behind being stuck living in the past. What SJ or what anyone believed back then doesn't really apply much to the current norms now. It's evolution.

Like I've said before, I'm getting the 6+ b/c I consume a lot of media on my phone. Netflix, iTunes stuff, gaming, WWE Network #

Point being, the bigger model is just right for me and it's the reason I'm sticking with Apple. Had Apple not released a bigger model, I would've def went with the Note 4. Kudos, Tim. Still debating on what color to get. Wonder if I should do gold again. As far as which will sell more, I'm thinking it'll be a close race. The iPhone 6 is cheaper. However a lot of people either left Apple or wasn't feeling the iPhone b/c it was too damn small. Soooooo, I fully expect the iPhone 6+ to sell...a lot

----------

And side note: I seriously wish some people on here would get over Steve Jobs "Steve Jobs would not have allowed that" "Steve Jobs wouldn't have done it this way" "Steve Jobs is turning over in his grave" For God sakes, Steve isn't at Apple anymore. I respect Steve. I really do. The guy was a bit of a prick and perfectionist (which wasn't necessarily bad). The guy was one of a select few who truly and I mean truly changed the world. However, Steve is gone. Let him rest. Some people need to accept it and move on.

Apple is going the big screen route b/c they see the money that they are missing out on by not going that route. Bigger screens are in. Why not capitalize on it? It's all about money. I don't care if it's Apple, Samsung, Microsoft or Google...it's all about money.

yeah but the reality is that sometimes you just have to go with the market. The Watch and payments was being reported on the rumors sites years before Samsung released one.
