Ya, that's not correct. If you watch the keynote again, they show an example of someone shooting video while supposedly riding a mountain bike.

yeh I saw that, but there was no mention that it was the OIS or Cinematic video stabilisation which both iPhone 6's have

Apple demoed the feature at the keynote while recording. If you really don't believe us, watch the keynote. It's demoed while they talked about the cameras.
Yes, do that ( http://techcrunch.com/2014/09/17/life-is-tough/ )and then see that cinematic video stabilization is the same on both phones....

Come on, even the video demoing it is shot on an iPhone 6, not an iPhone 6 +
I also read that image stabilization while shooting movies is the same for both phones on multiple reviews, so techcrunch is obviously right on this and there is no difference in that point (as you can see by viewing the stabilized iPhone 6 video on the page I linked to)
Also, apple itself doesn't state a difference. Here https://www.apple.com/iphone-6/cameras/ it differentiates between OIS for photos ("iPhone 6 plus") and cinematic video stabilization for videos (nothing like that), same goes for the "compare" site ( https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/ ) -> cinematic video stabilization on both as opposed to not being on the iPhone 5s.
tl;dr get your facts straight, OIS just works for photos, cinematic video stabilization is the same on both phones
The techchrunch review said it was the iPhone 6 not the plus they used in that video. Apple is doing "Cinematic image stabilization" on both the 6 and 6 plus. There is no mention of the 6 plus using the OIS for video.
Techcrunch also says OIS is only for photos in its iPhone 6 plus review.

..and one last thing; do not give advice on this or any forum based on unfounded assumptions or wishful thinking, the internet is becoming overloaded with dubious information. I almost got the 6+ because of the advice I received here, a great camera was the priority but I preferred the smaller iPhone 6, luckily I wasn't convinced and I'm happy that I've been taught to critically think, seems others have not

During the keynotes when they are on the bikes no mention of that being OIS or even if it's an iPhone 6 or 6+. They mention that being "Cinematic video stabilization" which Apple list as a new feature for BOTH the 6 and 6+.
It's pretty obvious OIS isn't used for video as if you goto Apple.com and look under iSight Camera it list all of the benefits of each iPhone including "Optical Image Stabilization". If look under video recording there is no mention of it as a feature.
Any video camera with what is considered good OIS is moving a lot more than the iPhone camera has room to move in its housing.
EDIT: The youtube video above highlights it well but I don't think the guy knows what he is talking about. Look how shaky the opening is on the iPhone 6+, as far as stabilization goes that's pretty bad.
