why is this so unbelievable?

Steve Jobs is using code words and a reality distortion field to make us buy apple products all the time. that brings us close to bankrupty as well.;) i guess that is an established fact. so the letterman thing could be true as well.:p
But Steve doesn't love you, just the computer and your money. :p

LOL.

Letterman might be happier than the lady that there is a restraining order.

"3 yards away"- OMG

Sounds like erotomania or "de Clerambault's syndrome", can't believe anyone even gave her the time of day with the nonsense case that they made.

The only thing she got right is all that stuff about the evil Jay Leno who stole Letterman's Tonight Show spot. :(

Whouldn't need a restraining order to keep me away from her.

Heck, if I saw her I'd run like hell! Crazy woman...

Don't worry, all will be right once O'Brien takes over from Leno in a few years.... ;)

ONLY IN AMERICA!

You must be quite proud. "Only in America!"

What political insight you've offered.

It may be good sport to make fun of the Americans, but beware of chauvinism.

Nasty habit, mon ami. A nasty habit.

Not sure what your issue is with the chap who wrote this. His is a valid point. In other countries this woman would be offered counselling and treatment for what is evidently a psychiatric disorder, too bad it is easier to see a lawyer than a doctor.

1. Look up chauvinism. hint

2. Statements such as "Only in America!" betray the millisecond of thought that went into them. And this person seemed to honestly believe s/he was making a statement of considerable insight.

3. One could easily substitute the name of any country in the world in such a statement. Only I don't see any Americans on this board making ill-informed comments such as "Only in X" with, at best, a cursory understanding of an event that transpired in another country.

4. The woman's decision to seek an attorney reflects a personal decision vs. a problem with the American legal or medical systems.

5. Read the other posts challenging this person's comment.

1. Bigotry would be a better word (evidently you know where to look), chauvinism doesn't work for me nor really according to the definition you provide.

2.Sometimes a millisecond is all that is needed to make a pertinent response.

3. You could, but then you'd be wrong. This sort of thing just doesn't tend to happen elsewhere.

4. The fact that the attorney didn't laugh in her face, or at least have the kindness to point her in the right direction rather than humouring her delusion says a lot about the dishonesty of the legal profession in the country in question - where was it again?

5. I've read plenty of posts in this thread, can i direct you to mine regarding the likely diagnosis of erotomania - you should be able to look that up too!

This saddens me to see it's from New Mexico. It makes me ashamed to be from there. I guess that's why I got out.

i tought it was bogus untill i read up on the smoking gun...
i think a rolling eyes smilie is not enough for this

edit: everybody read the smoking gun papers.. i'm through her first 2 pages and my eyes are filled with tears from laughing
