Just so everyone doesn't get too excited... I have a good feeling the 27" iMac will get a "retina display" as an option and won't replace the existing LCD display at the same price. Much like the MacBook Pro's had a retina model at extra cost at first.

Apple is a creature of habit in regards to new features being introduced.

Yeah, their fuzed glass thing is fairly new, you are right, I don't think they'd just get rid of it and replace everything with Retina's. That said...27" retina is probably a given. But are they going to just leave 21's alone? No retina option? Maybe... but they can't neglect that MP users yet once again, can they?

Posting a "hi, I'm new" message on a focused topic thread would be one of those "don'ts". :) That would be true on any forum. I'm sure there's a welcome forum somewhere around here...

well i can't take it back now.. but thanks for the input. Rookie mistake.

Thank you. That was very helpful

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it. I'm thinking now that the screen size probably depends on your usage. If you are doing a lot of articles or reading that makes sense. If you use a lot of apps and have to touch a lot of the screen the bigger size might get in the way.

Reading your usage made me realize... i've honestly never watched a movie on a phone or tablet of any size. One time I was at the beach and it started raining so my wife and went in our cabana tent. I had my phone and we watched part of a how i met your mother episode. But i'm sure you are right that if that is how you want to watch movies, the screen size probably makes a difference.

Normally at work whenever i can i try watching football on my NFL Sunday Ticket app. And the 5s screen seems so small especially while trying to share the game with someone else. I books pages are far too small. I'm turning pages every few seconds it seems. It gets old fast. I usually just wait until i get to my iPad to read the books. I like to share my experiences with others. SO showing videos on the smaller iPhone 5s has become a problem for me even before the 6 and 6+ came out. Everyone else have been switching to bigger phones on other platforms and it completely dwarfs the 5s. Ive recently started using YouTube app more often on my iPad and I like it..I wasn't really big on apps before but as of late I've been downloading apps more frequently. Looking for better ways to get content. Speaking of which. It would be nice if MacRumors would have an app! I do not like the mobile platform for safari.

Wouldn't that be an ideal use for "Continuity"?

And could that explain why both iPhoto and Aperture are being replaced by this new app "Photo"?

In Photo (with Continuity) maybe you'll just be able to flip back and forth between "Mac+Mouse" and "Large iPad+Stylus" as you work with your photographs? Use the Mac+Mouse for sorting/filing/updating metadata. Use the large iPad+Stylus for retouching directly on the surface of the photograph.

Now this i like. Never thought about this before! I would allow people to be more productive and make everything more (one of Apple's favorite words) "seamless"

Great idea!

That's my vision of using iPad/or larger iPad is to load up photos on iMac, and at my leisure just chill out and edit photos on a HD retina iPad. I guess there's a way to do that now, but needs to be seamless to me in with upcoming 10.10

I love this idea. And I truly believe that is the point of merging two different Apps into one.

Much better than having a half-ass laptop and half-ass tablet. I really hope devs take advantage of the continuity API's.

Dear Apple - fixed it for you.

This.

It amazes me how difficult it is to view my photos on my Mac. iPhoto is surprisingly slow and bloated for what I want to do - get my photos from photo stream. I would certainly welcome a bare-bones photo-viewing app, and imagine the possibilities if you could plug extensions into it. :p

All I want is either a new iMac or Mac mini. One or the other will be mine come this weekend.

windows vista

Heh, hehehehe, BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Whew....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

*Cough* *Cough* *Sip Water*

This.

I'm literally not allowed to buy a Mac Mini server at work because we can't rack mount it - fire precautions.

Are rack mount computers less flammable? I guess it would help to understand the rationale.

I think there are other rack mount tray systems for mini if the Sonnet options are excessive.

I wonder if Mac mini colo is being unsafe, I don't think they're using a rigid mounting system.

It's to do with the way our extinguishing system works.

I literally have to do all my iPhone and iPad management from a Macbook Air on my desk...

Haven't able to get on to the apple online store for over an hour... they should still allow you to log in to your profile to track orders..... :(

Yeah, it is slightly archaic that they still do that.

I was trying to show the purchase ordering girl the difference (including price and colours etc.) between the iPad Air smart covers and smart cases, but couldn't as the store is down.
