considerably. Apps loaded instantly before, now it's almost as slow as my 4S! Could this just be bugs related to 8.0 that will be fixed with 8.1?

I haven't noticed any speed changes at all... Try a fresh install, or wait for the 8.1 update since it's so close.

Unless you have completely filled your iPhone, it is all in your head.

If you use apps like FaceBook and Intagram, the store a lot of caches on the phone after a while and it tends to slow things down. Download Battery Doctor and run the junk clean up. Might have to run it 2 times for it to actually work (There is a iOS 8 bug in the app). Could save you hundreds of MB. I run it about once a week, save 400-500MB at a time. Also helps keep the "other" space in iTunes in check.

I'm pretty sure it's not "all in my head", I wouldn't just imagine a large change in speed.

You're imagining things...

No, I'm not.

Yeah, does that really make a difference?

I have an iPhone 6 and it's just as fast as the day I got it. I use over 100 apps, including Facebook, Twitter, banking apps Etc and there has been no slow down whatsoever. Is your storage almost full?

Sure, just like all of the other inane "problems" you find with your phones, iOS, and whatever.

You also didn't answer my first question. Is your phone full?

No, I have 40 left.

All of my criticisms and problems with the iPhone and iOS are not "inane", in fact most of them have multiple posters who share the same frustrations/issues.

No, my phone has 40 GB free out of 64.

You are the minority, even here. The vast majority of the general user base of Apple products will never visit MacRumors, and never complain about these little things that you and a few others seem to find.

Put your phone into DFU mode and use iTunes and install a fresh copy of iOS 8.0.2. DO NOT RESTORE FROM YOUR BACKUP. You can, however, install whatever apps you need. Use it for a couple weeks and see if it still slows down. If it does, then it's all in your head.

When I first got my 6 it was lightning fast, now it's already started to slow...

Mine is still as fast as the first day I received it so I don't think this has anything to do with iOS 8.0.2. As others have said, do a fresh install, this should rectify the issues.

What about all of my photos/contacts/bookmarks/data?

What about all of my photos/contacts/bookmarks/data?

Your contacts and bookmarks are synced through iCloud. I'm not sure how you have your camera backed up and I've never used PhotoStream, so if you're using that it may allow you to "restore" your photos.

I believe you will lose other app related data. Did you restore from a backup of a jailbroken phone when you setup your iPhone 6?

Yeah

Phones don't just randomly slow down.

From the start I noticed some jagged UI and transitions, but that is just poor coding.

So I will apologize. This issue isn't in your head(although that doesn't change my opinion on some of the other "problems" you've had). How's that for a back handed apology?

Anyway, it sound like you may have caused a problem by restoring a backup from a jail broken device. This is actually one of the main reasons I stopped jailbreaking.

Thanks, maybe I'll start fresh with 8.1. It wil be a huge inconvenience to have to lose all of my data though.

As for my various criticism, many either don't voice their opinion or don't know any better, but many of my complaints are legitimate flaws in the UI or things that could and should be much more efficient.

A brand spanking new phone with a fresh install and nothing running is always going to be a lot faster than a phone with a hundred contacts, social networks, photo syncing, background services and whatever else.

Maybe your expectations are just unrealistic and it's time for you to move on to something else.
