Pics are starting to surface of the Moscone Center lobby. Most banners are covered in black, but one large banner (which presumably shows no new products) is revealed. I would link to the site, but it was dugg to death, so now I posted the banner here.

"Welcome to WWDC '06
You chose the right platform."

The only reason the banner is interesting is that if you look carefully, you can see the disc art for Leopard. Very impressive, I must say. As you can see, the color scheme is now black X on black leopard spots on a black leopard skin.

The other thing you can safely assume is that no product on the banner will be replaced by something with a different appearance. While there is a Power Mac on the banner, that tells me the Mac Pro will look exactly the same. I also see no Cinema Displays. The MacBook Pro is up, so I doubt that would get updated, seeing that it would receive a Magnetic Latch a la MacBook, and thereby not appear on the banner. However, new iMacs would probably look the same... so of the two, I'd put my money on the iMac.

Any other observations?

I dunno about not changing the appearance of products just because they show up the same on that banner. Steve may want to make it a suprise during the keynote, no?

I mean I've never been to any kind of conference like this, so i don't know.

Note: whats the logo with the three marbels on a plate?

Im trying to figure that out too. You do mean the one under Automator?

I bet its some networking thing.

Is it just me... Or does the black laptop look like it has a backlite keyboard.

Anyway, banner looks cool.

I don't think they put any "new computers" on there.. I think they put all the old stuff.. and just the Leopard logo, see as how everyone KNOWS that theres going to be a preview.

I don't want to see stuff like this, it will spoil the surprise! :(

I personally like the tiger logo best out of all the os x logo's panther was good too!
10.3 and .4 were sexy! but yet still professional looking!

I think that the most interesting thing on there is the 64-bit logo.

It's not for the G5's 64 bit capability...they wouldn't bother making it that big.

It has to mean that there is 64 bit from Intel on the way. :)

We all know the Mac Pro is coming, and we all know that whether it gets Conroe or Woodcrest it will still be 64 bit.

Leopard Disk Art - For Developers Only

Please note that the Leopard print disk on the banner is just the Developer version, Apple did this for Tiger at WWDC '04. Apple will reveal the final disk art when Leopard is finalized.

I also noticed that the black notebook looked a bit different, perhaps a backlit macbook? But it could just be the shiny effects used for a poster...

But I'm pretty confident that this is a cover banner thats being used to hide the real banner rather than the black sheets they'd used before. Everything "new" on it seems to be the developments that they've been pretty open about anyways.
