You beat me to it

I was just going to post this, but waited until after I had bought mine and you beat me to it. When the Crucial memory was posted here the other day, it was sold out before I got to the Web site and I was afraid the same thing would happen today. This is an even better deal, especially if you have the $10 off (which I couldn't) or use another promo code (I got 5% off). You can find Buy.com promo codes easily by searching.

After missing the deal the other day, I bought a 2 gig stick of Crucial from NewEgg for $60. If I bought Kingston, would it and Crucial play well together? Or do I need two sticks of the same stuff?

It's their ValueRam stuff right? It'll work, but Kingston makes different grades of quality in their RAM, and this is the lower end chip.

Maybe you get a more accurate speed boost with a top name brand chip, but really if it works, it works. Many of these chips are just rebranded, so even a generic chip can be good stuff. Mac memory snobs will say there's a difference and pay a large premium to avoid generic chips, and buy from OWC or some place like that, just because their generic has at least been tested first.

Price is the only reason I've heard of for someone picking Kingston above Crucial.

Wow thanks for that -- I ordered myself a couple for work. My computers have been kind of laggy with all the apps I've been having to run at the same time lately. This should help!

Please let your comps at work be laptops. This is laptop ram, which the Macbook, MBP and iMac use.

Thanks for the heads up.
Get to MAX out the ram on TWO laptops now.
MBP goes from 2 to 4 and the MB goes from 1 to 2. (all for $116)

how much can a Late 2006 Macbook Pro with Leopard utilize, and please don't give me that guide to Ram thing.
