2.16 C2D Vs 2.2 C2D?

Would like a second opinion, I found a 2.16 C2D for 800GBP is that worth it? or should look around more?
Also if anyone knows how a 2.16 C2D would compare to a 2.2 C2D for gaming, would the nvidia make that much difference even though I they're both 128mb VRAM. Many Thanks

It's an MBP, 2nd Hand, good condition few scratches on the front. No dead pixels comes with Office and iworks.
 
2.2 not only has a faster processor, but significantly faster graphics card, faster system bus, LED screen, bigger HD and more RAM standard. You decide...
 
I would personally go with the bigger one. Logically it is an improvement. The question then becomes is the price difference worth it. That's a question you have to answer.
 
for gaming the macbook pro
i have the macbook C2D 2.16 with GMA950 graphics crap for gaming
and £800 i paid £830 for a brand new one in-store so a bad deal
and if you realy need the macbook the new one is 2.2 SR with intel X1300 i think so gaming should be a little bit better still for £830 brand new instore!😀
 
Thanks for all the help. I'm an Computer Science student and heard that a Macbook Pro would benifit me over a macbook and I like gaming.
The problem being right now I can't afford the current model so am plannning to buy the 2.16 C2D MBP but was wondering how much of a difference it would make.
I'm not to fussy over waiting times for loading up games but as longs it can run at a medium high level and i'm talking about half life 2, counter strike, halo 2 etc...

my roommate has the C2D 2.2, 2GB RAM, etc, and the graphics and everything are great on it. never had any problems with rendering anything. i've never used a 2.16, but i can imagine that you would want the 2.2 since you get the upgraded graphics card, display, and processor, and you are using it for gaming. just a suggestion though.
 
The 2.2 was much better build quality , I have had all revs of macbooks and this is far...the best, just sold mine for 1K with 4G of ram....

I've played all the following games via bootcamp:

F.E.A.R. and it's 2 expansion pack
Timeshift
SWAT4
FARCRY
Chronicles of Riddick
Star Wars: Republic Commando
call of juarez
Rainbow Six Vegas
HL2,HL1,counter strike
Ghost Recon 2
Brothers in Arms: road to hill 30
Brothers in Arms: earned in blood
even played Crysis demo, it run ok on medium setting

and those on mac os X:
Battlefield 2142
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Guitar Hero 3
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty Deluxe Edition
First to Fight
Quake 4


All of them run good, some on high setup. the only game that didn't run that good was Rainbow Six Vegas, but it's a terrible 360 port anyway.

Well that's the gaming part.

I'm a recent computer engineering graduate and this baby (my MBP) got me through real tough times. I've done lots of projects on it, it's great for software development and web development. I was the only guy with a mac, 80% (if not more) of my college mates ended up buying a mac because of mine!!!

it's a great machine, I won't give on it until apple releases the next OS point release. So I say go for it, if you can't afford a new one. even if it's an old machine it's still better than a brand new macbook or even most of the current PCs.
 
Thanks for all the info azizane. I went ahead and bought a 2.16 and tested some demos they work great...just need to save up for xp then the real gaming begins!
As to what akonradi said I'm beginning to think the same thing so as soon as I can afford it i'll buy a legit copy or use something else.
