Just downloaded the new iPod Touch 2.0 firmware from Apple via iTunes. iTunes went about it's business updating my iPod Touch and I got an error and now I have a bricked iPod Touch.

This was from Apple. Via iTunes. This shouldn't be happening. :(

that is no good. I still haven't been able to get it anyway.

itunes still refuses to let me download it. i click "check for updates" then "learn more" and it goes to the itunes store for about 3 seconds then exits, and gives me a mssg that itunes store is down.

You read about all the problems and yet you STILL decided, ON YOUR OWN, to go ahead with a Day One install.

You get no sympathy from me.

No one needs your sympathies, but no one needs your unnecessary comments either.

Hey! It's happy time! See? :D:D:D

If you feel like whining, go to a Nickelback forum or something...or the Apple support lines if you wanna feel relevant, but realize it ain't the person on the other end's fault either.

Go play some Bob Marley! Your iPod/iPhone might be fried but your computer ain't!

Holy crap! It worked for me too.... course, the CC I have in itunes is about 5 years old and I had to put in new stuff....

But after that it gave me the 'buy now' link, plus all the goodies... downloading now with 7 minutes left.

Course, now I'm a bit scared after all the 'I bricked my touch' messages here.... Oh well, in theory tomorrow I'm getting an iPhone anyway, but will report what happens with the touch.

After clicking "update" about a billion times, it is now downloading! Hope the update goes well. Good luck to the rest of you!

Is anyone else not being prompted to pay for the new iPod Touch 2.0 firmware via iTunes? After downloading it once and having my iPod bricked I wasn't and downloading and installing it the second time I haven't been (thus far...) either.

Edit: My iPod Touch has been bricked... again.

Nope.. I did and I had the January update.

Yesss

I restarted iTunes like three time, but it was worth it.
Looks like the servers are up and running. Downloading as I type.:D:D:D
