G4 macbook pro charger blows

Inherited a G4 Mac book Pro but with a glitch. After the battery has charged a couple of times the charger blows. The ring is green and the battery doesn't charge. New battery and new charger at the moment. Any ideas gratefully received.

Were that true, there'd be a hell of a lot more PB G4s in use.

uh, FYI. there is no such thing as a G4 Macbook Pro.

you are talking about a powerbook G4.
