Mine has a Ship date of Feb 6th, Arrives Feb 12th....

I ordered has soon has the store came up, and have the same shipping dates, I got the 1.8 w/64g ssd.

Which sucks because you guys are going to get it 8 days earlier than me! Damn Canadian store. And I didnt want to pay 25$ for express shipping. haha but i think it will be hear earlier than expected. cause it can't take THAT long to ship. and i live in the metro....mmm one can only hope.

do you guys think it will actually start shipping on the 6th or do you think it will be earlier. cause didn't steve say it would be out in TWO weeks?

May buy the SuperDrive addition if i decide ir eally need it but right now i feel as though i dont.
 
Mine supposed to get here by the 12th. Unlike most people heres I chose the 1.6 Ghz CPU as opposed to the 1.8 GHz. I will use my macbook air mostly for web surfing and school stuff.The extra 200 MHz isn't going to make THAT much of a difference, but the extra $300 premium will.
 
just an FYI, Amazon.com says they'll have them in stock on Feb 5th. I have Amazon Prime, so I could've gotten free 2-day shipping and no tax (and their price is $5 cheaper), potentially getting it quicker if Apple's dates are correct. However, if Amazon will have them by the 5th, I'm thinking most of us in the US that ordered them should also have them around then. We'll probably get ours the same day the stores get them in stock, no? My wife's EPP discount + tax is still cheaper than Amazon for me, so I'm still saving money. But it'll suck if the Amazon folks get it a week earlier :(
 
Ordered a 1.6 w/80gb HD from amazon. No tax and free 2-day shipping was a better deal than my ed discount. I will post as soon as it comes in. We'll see who gets their MacBook Air first ;).
 
Does anyone know if the SSD will be BTO only? I live close to an Apple store, and usually make all my purchases there. I ordered my MBA (1.8/SSD) via the online store after the keynote, but now I'm wondering whether I would have been better off waiting and buying at the Apple store. Will the stores have them before the online customers?

I've heard similar inane comments about the iPhone when it was announced. Oh the ranting here about it. Guess you will be choosing one of the other 5 laptop options. So - why post here?

No jokes, but you won't get yours faster than someone ordering it directly from Apple for the obvious reasons.

I am going to get my at the retail store and so I will be calling them everyday to bug them. I don't like the idea of spending $3k and waiting for fedex. I lost a package once and don't like the hoops I have to jump to get a refund.

What no:

- checking the Applestore for the 20th time today to see if the ship status has changed.

- making a poll on MacRumors while I wait.

- looking out the window for the UPS van.

- stalking the local UPS van.

- having a GTG at the local MUG to pass the time.
