I kept my iPod touch in case since day 1, and I currently have only minor scratches in the dock connector area where the case doesn't protect.

I keep it in a microfiber cloth when in my pocket or I set it somewhere. Front is fine, back has a few scratches. After the many touches I have had over the years I'm convinced the back scratches itself while you are asleep. Putty is less scratchable.

After putting my iPod touch in my pocket and setting them on my carpet, it had pretty big scratches, mostly from being in the pocket(which had bit of lint, nothing else). It luckily had light leaking in between the bezel and screen so I was able to exchange it.

No, I don't care about the scratches. There's some scratches on the back with a whole lot of smudging. I've had mine for 4 days now without a case. Will get one soon though.

My 1st generation iPod Touch is still in minty shape thanks to an agent18 case put on the day after I got it:

So, how is the back of the iPod Touch used so that a scratch would matter

I put on it scotch and case since I bought it, it really works NO SCRATCHES, I sold my ipo touch 3G about a month ago and didnt see any scratches just a little on the bottom from charger

I installed my BestSkinsEver on day 1 for my iPod Touch 4G. I also use a Belkin Grip Vue Tint (and ordering an Otterbox soon) so my Touch right now is flawless.

WOW for being an older iPod THAT SUCKER IS CLEAN!

BRAVO!:D

Thanks!! :)

Yeesh, has that back ever seen the light of day for more than a few hours? :p

Not very often. I pull it out of the case to clean and oggle it once in awhile. Then it goes right back in the case.

All of my iPods are scratch free with the exception of my iPod Video. I dropped it at one point and it popped out of the case. It landed on concrete directly on the back. It has a bit of road rash from that episode, but other than that, it's still perfect.

Nope. I have had a case on it since the I got it and it still seems to have subtle scratches. The dock connector area is pretty scratched up too.
