The Developer Transition Kit arrived at my doorstep this morning.

If someone has the License Agreement handy, let me know - I'll post more pics if it is allowed (not sure). Until then, I'm pretty sure posting pics of the front and back isn't going to violate anything:

My new daughter (Sydney Claire) arrived June 16th; my parents are visiting from out of state; I have no DVI monitor. Result: no testing for a bit. However, rest assured that, once I can, I'll torture this sucker. ;)

Wow.. I'm jealous. Do you have a VGA monitor that you could use with the adapter? If you can, PLEASE take pictures of the insides and post them.

Congrats on the new daughter!

I'd like to know what's under the hood. ;)

EDIT: Congrats on your new baby girl!

Forget the InteliMac, and let's get on to far more important things:

Congrats on your new daughter. Sydney Claire is a great name, and a safe monogram, too. :)

you can buy an adapter to get a vga monitor on there, remember that. keep us posted if your allowed.

I'll post pics of the inside as soon as someone can post the license agreement or whatever (I might look it up tonight - nothing came with the Mac). I could send to those who PM a request, I suppose. ;). Otherwise, I'll post what I can. Don't want to get it yanked away from me!

FWIW: it's very, very empty inside. Tiny MB, that's about it.

someone needs to post the agrement !! i wonder why they did not send you one with it? unless it say's something when you paid for it .

if you can and when you can let us know how much that fan kicks in to see how much heat that bad boy makes

congrats on your new arrival :D

I'd like it if you could try plugging in a Mac-formatted iPod and see if it works.

(edit) didn't it come with the DVI-to-VGA adapter? If not, that's weird.

perhaps i am too much of a geek, but i thought the new powermac was your daughter. to my credit, there have been people on these boards that have names for their computer.

Why wouldn't the iPod thing work? The HD formatting is the same on the intel macs as the PPC macs, I think.

I was about to say the same thing. People still think the world has gone to hell with this switch :)

Well, if the motherboard is so tiny and the inside is so empty, looks like the final shipping product might shrink inside a little bit, what do you guys think? The current PM case is awfully big, IMHO.

Either smaller or more HD Bays. I would also want at least one more cd bay. Although Apple finds this hardly needed "I" would like to see it. I think Hard Drive bays are a big one too. I like the old G4 days with support for 4 drives, that was nice. Other than that, smaller cause is much needed and better and curvier handles. That G5 is a bitch to carry.

Yeah, I totally agree. I carried one for a long time, and the "handles" are more like hand-razorblade-cutters....ouch.

I'm curious about the duration of the hardware ownership. From what I remember, they charge $999 and then say that the hardware must be returned by 21/31/06? I'm assuming that the $999 gets credited back to you?

Oh, and I don't have the license agreement either, but I am willing to bet that they will forbid ANY photos of the hardware and ANY disclosure of hardware configuration, benchmarks, etc.

Can you say "Power Mac mini"?...

If I recall correctly, they do NOT credit back the $999.

You have not been paying attention to the Apple v. John Does lawsuits lately? They will sue to find out!

They don't return your money to you when you lease/rent a car either, since you are paying for the time you have it.

But he doesn't want to post pictures, or send them to someone who will post them for him - unless it's OK in the agreement.
