    What exactly is the point of blank app icons?

    When I look at my folders on the Home Screen, all the apps that I’ve previously downloaded, but aren’t actually on the device show up as blanks until I drill into that folder. What is the point of this? Does it save a minute amount of rendering power? Sometimes I look for app icons from afar...
