I own an early 2009 20-inch iMac, 2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo, running OS X 10.9.5. I upgraded the RAM two years ago to 4 GB (1067 MHz DDR3).

What is a good way of testing if you should increase the RAM capacity on your mac?
Just run multiple high demand applications and once and test the speed? Or is there a more professional or technical approach?
