I am seeing people who are able to get an iPhone 15 Pro Max for same-day pickup in the USA.

In Japan, however, Apple hasn't shipped any new iPhone 15 lineups for sale right now!

I am still not seeing any new inventory for 15 Pro Max, and even if I do see one, only one model comes out every day, and they are sold out in a second thanks to those Japanese Python scalper bots...

I just gave up and told my Korean relatives to buy the 15 Pro Max for me, since Korea starts preorders on 10/5.

Why does Apple have to prioritize the USA when it comes to inventories???

Japan has a higher iPhone user percentage compared to the USA...

And a much smaller population

Can you cite any evidence indicating that Apple is shipping iPhones to the USA at a higher per-capita rate than Japan?
USA: Local stores have multiple iPhone stocks available every day, for minutes. And the phone ships in mid October even if you made your order in 9/17

Japan: Only one iPhone stock popping up at a random time in the entire country, and it goes away in 5 seconds. And you get your phone in mid November even if you made your order in like 9/16!

lol, science

Japan has a lot more scalpers. Those scalpers send the phones elsewhere to across the Middle East, Malaysia, Vietnam, and to Russia. Those countries don't have the phone available yet or may never get it.

iPhone 15 Pro Max in Japan = $1,270. Cheaper than anywhere else outside USA.

USA phones don't have a SIM tray so it's worth less.

As I said, Japan phones are more desirable due to price. Phones in the USA are more expensive after tax and don't have SIM tray.

Uhh because Apple headquarter is in USA, not in Japan? Also USA is its home market?

How about this idea? Just hold your urge to upgrade until Christmas?
My third-party XS battery is dying and I don't want to pay expensive Apple battery prices!

I might as well go with a Samsung since they don't overprice stuff, unlike Apple! A Z Fold 4 battery by Samsung costs $40 in South Korea, including labor fees!

Apple does not have infinite inventory.

Apple cannot bypass each country's FCC equivalent for device approval.

Then just get another third party battery replacement. Why force yourself to upgrade when all you need is just a new battery? Cost far less too.

iPhone stock ain’t gonna improve anytime soon. 🤷‍♂️ Even in Australia, those popular models are “out of stock” all the way to mid November.

I had a difference experience. I live in Tokyo and ordered an iPhone 15 Pro on September 15, got it delivered just two days after launch on Sep 24 (even though it estimated Sep 28-Oct 4 !!), and was even able to exchange it for the same model at an Apple Store for a screen issue two days later. Surprisingly good imo!

My guess is because the most valuable, largest company on planet earth makes more money doing that than anything different...

If they could make more money sending phones elsewhere, they would do it, no?

Because I hate explaining to people why I use an old iPhone instead of getting a new budget Android phone.

I don't know about Japan, but in case of my home country (Korea) Samsung fans like to mock iPhone users who use old iPhones as 'Apple sheep wannabe'.

Well then it’s their problem of being way too nosy and have no better things to do.
In Australia, at least from what I know, it is a non-issue which iPhone you are using, or even which phone you are using, as long as it is not some absolutely ridiculous ones. (Think of the brick when cellular 1G just came out)

Ah, the petty and pointless cruelty of phone shaming. 😞

In the US, a 15 Pro Max order takes about a 30 days to arrive. You only get one now if you happen to find one a store that has gotten some of the small number that are distributed through Apple stores.

Well, Korea is full of people who struggle with debt because they cannot pay their loans for their shiny new BMW 520i... Without a house in their own names, and not having any savings at all!

Wasn't it easier to find a PS5 in Japan when it was first released too? It's normal, Apple is an American company, the devices are also cheaper there, at least cheaper than they are in Europe.

That’s why those Koreans are poor forever and cant Buy house under their own names, also have no savings.
Shame on them. Just get battery replaced for your phone and ignore those petty poor peasants.

Maybe I should just keep using my XS and patiently wait for my November shipment.

No issues here using a XS since I am in Japan right now.

Yes just keep using it. There is absolutely nothing wrong not using the latest.

I am lost. If it works, why would you not just continue using it until November? It’s not like you’d throw it away and use nothing for 2 months?

Because:

- I am still embarrassed about cancelling my launch day 15 Pro Max pickup just because I failed to read 'order cancel' in Japanese

- My XS third party battery is dying and Apple charges way too much for battwry

- The XS keeps overheating, lags, and has bad reception

- I waited for the 15 Pro Max for a whole year, then got my purchase plans delayed for months

- Wanted to set up new phone before I get busy in November
